Young Sheldon Star Iain Armitage Shares Reaction To Having Jim Parsons & Mayim Bialik On Set

Young Sheldon star Iain Armitage has opened up about what it was like to have Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik on the set of the prequel series, reprising their roles from The Big Bang Theory. Parsons portrayed an older version of Sheldon in the original sitcom, which later inspired the spinoff where Armitage brought the character’s younger years to life. Both Parsons and Bialik – who plays Amy – have been confirmed to return in the series finale of the current show in the franchise.

Speaking with Variety, Armitage spoke about what it was like to have Parsons and Bialik on set for the end of Young Sheldon season 7. The actor explained what it was like watching Parsons in particular portray Sheldon after so many years, while also teasing how well-acted their scenes are going to be. Check out what Armitage had to say below:

It was incredible. It felt like a reunion, getting to see them back together. They know each other so well and act so well together. They knew each other’s cues, which was wonderful to see. I think Mister Jim and Miss Mayim both quite enjoyed it, so that’s nice.

It was definitely surreal [watching Parsons play Sheldon]. I think it was weird and cool and interesting. He said that in a good way, he felt like a guest on our set. I was happy that it didn’t feel too weird or out of the ordinary for him. That’s all I can ask for.

More to come…
