New Hidden & Explorable Zelda TOTK Cave Found Nearly A Year After Release

New Hidden & Explorable Zelda TOTK Cave Found Nearly A Year After Release

A hidden cave in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been discovered nearly a year after the launch of the game. One of the most intriguing parts of TOTK is the hard-to-find locations and the setting of the game. Pushing players to explore every possible area of the map is something that is noticeable in this game and something that has fans returning to the game and spending hours of their time searching Hyrule high and low.

Reddit user cheat-master30 pointed out that there is a cave in the Breath of the Wild map that didn’t appear to exist in the Tears of The Kingdom map. When they went to the location of that cave they discovered that it was still there, but it was covered with a boulder.

With the right moves and a little finesse, they were able to glitch their way through the obstacle and into the cave. The video shows them looking around the cave, and the entrance is clearly open as if it were a normal cave. Though it is empty, it’s still a fun place to discover this long after the game’s release.

It’s not an adventure without the Master Sword and Tears of the Kingdom is no exception. Here is exactly how to get Link’s classic sword.

Hidden Locations Throughout Hyrule Are Common In Tears of the Kingdom

An Entirely New World To Explore

Though Hyrule hasn’t been fully rebuilt in TOTK, the map will, of course, feel familiar for players, but with minor changes made to it. This will help lead players to areas that they are familiar with, including this cave. The same cave in Breath of the Wild had nothing in it: no treasure, no enemies, nothing at all. The same can be said for the hidden location in TOTK. This might have been the reason the developers decided to hide the entrance, but it is interesting that the cave is still somewhat accessible if you know where to look.

There is so much to do in the game, and exploring the vastness of the map takes up a lot of time, so it’s no surprise that this hidden cave wasn’t found until recently. Most Tears of the Kingdom players never discover the majority of secrets in the game, and it’s likely many players will overlook this in their own playthrough. However, hardcore fans and those who are searching for Easter eggs and hidden quests could stumble upon this, especially if they remember the location from BOTW.

Tears Of The Kingdom Is All About Experimentation

Nintendo Wants Players To Use Their Tools

Perhaps what’s most impressive about Tears of the Kingdom is the amount of mechanical freedom afforded to players to take up the call for adventures and head out into the wilds of Hyrule. While Breath of the Wild was more about running around the map with unique traversal options, the sequel is more interested in tasking players to manipulate their environment and experiment with their tools. In the year since the game’s release, speedrunners have used the construction mechanics to create all manner of inventions to expose every secret and hidden location in Tears of the Kingdom.

Responding to comments on the post regarding the discovery of the cave, cheat-master30 noted that stumbling upon the simply hidden crevice inspired them to search for more secrets that may have survived the transition over from Breath of the Wild. Many believe that the sheer scale of Tears of the Kingdom means that other “useless” caves have managed to sneak into the game but aside from the one that’s already been discovered, nothing else has yet been found. Since the community is so dedicated to the cause, this may change in the coming months.

The debate about whether or not Tears of the Kingdom will be the last Zelda game is one that keeps resurfacing among fans, but it doesn’t seem likely that is the case. The popularity of the franchise is enough to keep player’s hopes up for more installments. The fact that things are still being discovered in Tears of the Kingdom is also a sign that the love for the game isn’t slowing down, and hopefully, even more secrets and hidden things will come to light as players explore Hyrule.

Besides the fact that the community surrounding Tears of the Kingdom is still so passionate about the game, the Legend of Zelda franchise will soon likely see a major influx of fans given that Nintendo has confirmed that it’s developing a movie based on the property. Following the massive success of the Super Mario. Bros animated film, the company announced that it would be turning some of its other popular series into films beginning with The Legend of Zelda. Details on the project are still largely unknown but director Wes Ball will helm the project.

Whether the movie will follow the plot of Tears of the Kingdom remains unknown but given that the game is a sequel to Breath of the Wild, it seems unlikely. Generally speaking, video game adaptations tend to send many viewers toward the source material as fans want to relive their favorite moments while newcomers want to experience more of the action they’ve seen on the screen. It’s happened with Fallout, The Witcher, and The Last of Us, so it stands to reason that The Legend of Zelda will soon be more popular than ever before.
