The Bear Season 3’s Confirmed Cameo Gives Me Hope That 1 Other Star Will Return

The Bear season 3 will see an actor who previously made a memorable cameo in the show’s second season reprising his role once again, and it could lead to another star’s return. As with many TV shows, The Bear‘s cast and characters are what makes the series so good. As well as the many big personalities that make up the staff of The Beef, the show also features a number of cameos by notable stars. Among The Bear season 2’s many cameos was a popular British star who looks set to make his return in season 3.

Starring Jeremy Allen White, The Bear revolves around the running of an Italian beef restaurant in Chicago. The show’s first season was a surprise hit, winning over critics and gaining a loyal fanbase. The success of The Bear season 1 meant that the show’s second run of episodes was able to attract well-known actors in guest appearances. With The Bear set to return for a third season, no doubt the new episodes will feature a string of fresh celebrity cameos. However, The Bear season 3 will also see the return of a familiar face.

The Bear Season 3’s Confirmed Will Poulter Cameo Comes As A Pleasant Surprise

Poulter’s Appearance Was One Of Season 2’s Best Episodes

Chef Luca (Will Poulter) smiling in The Bear season 2.

The Bear season 2 episode, “Honeydew” revolves around pastry chef Marcus traveling to Copenhagen to gain more experience. There, he trains under the watchful eye of master pastry chef Luca, who is played by Guardians of the Galaxy Vo.3 star Will Poulter. Over the course of the episode, Luca is shown to be a patient and caring mentor who ultimately helps Marcus learn more about his craft. Being away from his family, Marcus struggles. But Luca provides some much-needed friendship and support. The interactions between the pair are what makes “Honeydew” one of The Bear’s best episodes.

It was generally understood that Poulter’s appearance in the series would be nothing more than a one-off. After all, The Bear is primarily set in Chicago, while Luca is based in Copenhagen. With Marcus’s training complete, there seemed like no reason why Luca should return. And yet a set video from The Bear season 3 appears to confirm that Poulter will indeed be reprising his role.

It’s currently unclear as to why the character of Luca has been brought back and what narrative reason will be given for his return. However, the video clearly shows Luca in Chicago, not Copenhagen. During his first appearance in “Honeydew”, Luca implied that he and Carmy are former colleagues, so it’s possible that he will be paying a visit to his old friend. Whatever the case, Poulter’s return to The Bear comes as a pleasant surprise, especially given the quality of his previous episode and the likability of the character of Luca.

Will Poulter Reprising His Role Offers Hope That Olivia Colman Will Also Return In Season 3

She Stole The Show During Her Last Appearance

Will Poulter’s return to The Bear is not only an exciting prospect in its own right, but it also offers hope of Olivia Colman making a comeback. The Oscar-winning actress appears in an episode titled “Forks”, in which she plays Terry, the owner of a fine dining restaurant named Ever. When Ritchie is sent by Carmy to work at Ever, he becomes inspired by Terry and the way she and her staff run the restaurant. It’s a small part but, like with many of Colman’s other roles, she manages to steal the show.

As was the case with Poulter, Colman’s cameo in The Bear‘s second season was generally believed to be a one-off, owing to her character’s lack of real connection to the show’s main story and its characters. While it’s always seemed inevitable that characters related to Carmy, such as Bob Odenkirk’s Uncle Lee, Jamie Lee Curtis’ Donna, and Sarah Paulson’s Michelle, would reappear at some point, Colman’s return felt less likely. However, with Will Poulter’s Luca rejoining The Bear for its third season, there’s no reason why Olivia Colman can’t return as Terry at some point.
