Two stars from Netflix’s Bridgerton reunite in a new charming photo. Based on Julia Quinn’s extensive book series, this historical romance series, which initially debuted in late 2020, revolves around the eight children of the Bridgerton family as they navigate adulthood and the romantic entanglements that come with it. Bridgerton quickly became a Netflix sensation following the release of season 1, catapulting stars like Jonathan Bailey and Phoebe Dynevor to stardom.

Now, Dynevor, a staple of Bridgerton season 1 and 2, who announced that she would not be returning for Bridgerton season 3, recently reunited with her on-screen brother Bailey in a photo shared by Netflix on Instagram.

The charming image features both Dynevor and Bailey at the 2024 Met Gala with a caption that reads: “the duchess & the viscount STUN in new photo.”

Why Phoebe Dynevor Isn’t Returning For Bridgerton Season 3

Does Daphne Have A Future On Bridgerton?

Dynevor was one of many Bridgerton cast members in the first two seasons of the show. The English actress played Daphne Basset, the eldest of the Bridgerton girls and the Duchess of Hastings. Dynevor was a main fixture in season 1 as her relationship with the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), not only served as one of the major appeals of the show, but it also set the tone for future romantic relationships that occurred in the show’s subsequent seasons.

Even though Regé-Jean Page did not return for Bridgerton season 2, Dynevor still featured in the second season, taking on a minor role. A few months after the conclusion of season 2, Dynevor announced that her character Daphne Basset would not be featuring in season 3, stating that she’s had a great arc in the series, and she’s also done what she intended to do with her character. She also added that a return of her character in the future should not be ruled out, but she’ll only be watching the forthcoming season as a viewer.

Daphne’s “replacement” in Bridgerton season 3 is actually the complete opposite of Daphne character-wise, which is a good thing for the series.

With Dynevor’s character absent from Bridgerton season 3, the new season will now focus on a number of other characters. It has been confirmed that season 3 will focus on Colin and Penelope. The latter has decided she needs to look for a husband that will allow her to get out of her mother’s house and Colin has offered his assistance to help her find one. With the first part of the Bridgerton season 3 scheduled for release on May 16, fans of this romantic series won’t have to wait much longer to see some of their favorite stars in action once again.
