Warning: Spoilers Ahead for The Cursed Library Prelude #0!A new Queen of Hell has been crowned in the Archie Comics Horror-Verse, pushing Sabrina the Teenage Witch out of the running for the throne. The Archie Horror universe has become one of the most popular Archie Comics spin-offs. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina in particular has become the most well-known of the various entries though for its dark new take on the classic character. However, while the TV adaptation revealed Sabrina was the daughter of Lucifer, the comics have officially declared a different Archie character as the rightful Queen of Hell.

In Archie Horror Presents The Cursed Library Prelude by Jamie Lee Rotante, Craig Cermak and Glenn Whitmore, Archie Horror’s daughter of Satan, Jinx, is holding Madam Satan, also known as Iola, inside the titular Cursed Library of Riverdale. There, she recounts various tales from previous stories from the anthology. These serve to not only bring the reader up to speed, but also to prove the power of the library. As Jinx unleashes her magic at the end, Madam Satan asks her, “So, I guess you’re the next ruler of Hell, then.” Jinx then replies, “You’ll get answers soon enough.”

This set-up for the next line of Archie Horror comics has officially given readers a glimpse at how powerful Jinx can be, as well as all but confirming that she has reached her place as the new Queen of Hell.

The exciting thing about this reveal is what it means going forward for Archie Horror fans. When Jinx was resurrected in 2022, it provided a fascinating new angle for a commonly overlooked Archie character. Sabrina’s story in the TV show was a drastic departure from what came in the comics. Giving Jinx a chance to be the true daughter of Satan opened the gates for Archie Comics to toy with the concept, as well as expand upon a potential rivalry between her and Madam Satan. With the latter completely drained of her abilities and all of Hell searching for her, it’s sure to be an interesting story going forward as Jinx takes her place in power.

Jinx’s place in Archie Horror has also been revealed to be a longtime coming as well. In a special segment by writer Jamie Lee Rotante, she mentions Jinx and Madam Satan’s stories “were running parallel all along,” despite the franchise’s shift to anthology horror. Now, The Cursed Library, which is expected to release this summer, could be an exciting conclusion for their arc, as well as a heart-pounding glimpse into who will take the throne in Hell when the dust has settled.

Sabrina Wouldn’t Object to Jinx Becoming Queen of Hell

She Has Far Greater Things on Her Mind

When it comes to Sabrina, it’s clear that she won’t stand in Jinx’s way unless she ends up having nefarious plans that threaten the lives of those in Greendale and Riverdale. Even if she had a right to take the throne in the comics, she certainly wouldn’t object because she doesn’t toe the line with the dark arts like she does in the TV series. Instead, she would likely keep her eye on Jinx’s rise in Hell to ensure that it doesn’t get out of control and only intervene if necessary while she deals with the mysterious resurrection of her father.

A wicked coven of high school witches are coming for Sabrina Spellman – and the rest of the magic world – in their first more mature horror one-shot.

Of course, this is if she actually did have a path to being Queen in the first place. The greatest difference between the comics and the show is that Sabrina is never explicitly revealed to be Lucifer’s daughter in the comics. In fact, it’s possible that she never will be, as the series continues to release following the show’s cancellation. Still, even if the comics eventually make the revelation that was made specifically for the show, it won’t necessarily be a massive fight since Sabrina likely won’t want the throne, paving the way for Jinx to be the new Queen of Hell in the Archie Comics Horror-verse.
