Zoë Kravitz Solves A Murder With Alexa-Like Tech In Kimi Movie Trailer

HBO Max has released the first trailer for its sci-fi thriller KIMI starring Zoë Kravitz. The dramatic film centers around Kravitz, a woman who rarely leaves her apartment and is constantly using her KIMI device, which is similar to an Amazon Alexa. KIMI stars Kravitz alongside Byron Bowers, Rita Wilson, Jaime Camil, and more.

The first trailer for KIMI centers around Kravitz’s blue-haired character (via Warner Bros. Pictures). She uses her voice-activated device to do everything — make calls, order groceries, etc. But because the devices are always recording, she stumbles upon some audio that sounds like the recording of a murder. Kravitz must leave her apartment to try to solve the case, as authorities and acquaintances do not believe her story.

The trailer is full of the suspense we expect from an HBO Max thriller. KIMI will not only be a crime drama but will clearly make commentary on the good and the bad of technology in the modern day. The film, directed by Steven Soderbergh, will be released on HBO Max on February 10. Check out the full trailer below.

Kravitz is a familiar face in Hollywood, starring in films like X-Men: First Class and Mad Max: Fury Road. She’s also known for her regular roles on shows like High Fidelity and Big Little Lies. It looks like KIMI will be hyper-focused on her complex character, which should be an interesting portrayal for the young actress to add to her portfolio. Her acting in KIMI should also provide an interesting comparison for her upcoming role as Catwoman in The Batman.
