YouTube Vs. TikTok Boxing: When & Where To Watch Battle Of The Platforms

YouTube Vs. TikTok Boxing: When & Where To Watch Battle Of The Platforms

A number of YouTube stars are set to take on TikTok stars in a boxing event that’s being advertised as a battle of the platforms. In recent times, social media stars and influencers have been stepping out of their usual comfort zones to take on new challenges, with stepping into a boxing ring seemingly proving to be a popular option.

YouTube and TikTok are arguably two of the most popular platforms right now for creators. While Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter continue to make their mark, YouTube and TikTok have proven to be great ways to advance a profile, creating highly popular stars in the process and opening the door to lucrative revenue streams. However, there has been somewhat of a recent trend where YouTube stars have turning to boxing to settle their differences with other YouTube stars. A trend that now appears to be entering a phase where entire platforms are competing with each other.

LiveXLive confirmed via a press release that the PPV boxing event is due to take place in June. The “for entertainment only” event will see a number of YouTube personalities going head-to-head with a variety of TikTok names. In fact, two of the fights on the card have yet to be fully determined, with the event organizers allowing the general public to make the decision on who steps into the ring. The main event will see The Ace Family YouTube channel’s Austin McBroom taking on TikTok’s (and YouTube’s) own Bryce Hall. Besides the in-ring action, the event is stated to also include live musical performances, although the exact lineup of artists has yet to be confirmed.

Besides the McBroom and Hall matchup, other events on the card include YouTube’s Tanner Fox taking on TikTok’s Nick Austin while Faze Jarvis takes on Michael Le, DDG battles Nate Wyatt, and Deji goes up against Vinnie Hacker. There are also two other fights on the card with the general public seemingly able to choose who steps into the ring with Tayler Holder and Danny Duncan. The organizers have yet to confirm how the additional fighters will be determined, or how people can take part in the decision-making process.

In spite of this being a “Battle of the Platforms” between YouTube and TikTok, neither platform appears to be directly involved and it remains to be seen if viewers will be able to tune in via YouTube or TikTok. However, the live music and event streaming platform, LiveXLive, is a definite option for anyone who wants to watch as the action unfolds on the night. The exact start time has yet to be announced, but the event is confirmed as happening on June 5, 2021. Likewise, how much it will cost to watch the YouTube versus TikTok PPV boxing event has yet to be revealed.
