“You’re a Good Man”: Even in Marvel’s Dark Future, Captain America Still Admires an Underrated MCU Hero

Matt’s actions in Avengers: Twilight #1 should come as no surprise. As a defense attorney, Matt often finds himself up against incredible odds. His record as a lawyer speaks for itself, and he is one of the Marvel Universe’s top attorneys. At times, Matt, along with his partner Foggy, has run legal clinics for those without the ability to pay. Matt himself came from nothing, which gives him a great degree of empathy with society’s downtrodden. Matt knows what it is like to be on the streets, and through his legal clinic, he helps others avoid a similar fate.

Matt Murdock’s great qualities have shone through in Daredevil’s MCU appearances. The MCU version of Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox, perfectly encapsulates the character, mixing his prowess as a lawyer with his street fighting abilities. The fight scenes in Daredevil’s first season were particularly praised by critics, as was the legal courtroom action. In his MCU appearances, Daredevil has helped those less fortunate than himself, both in his costumed identity and as a lawyer. However, the MCU incarnation of Daredevil has not caught on with fans quite like Iron Man or Thor.
