Young Sheldon Season 7, Episode 4 Trailer Teases Sheldon Catching His Dad Cheating

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Young Sheldon season 7, episode 3.

The Young Sheldon season 7, episode 4 trailer previews Sheldon catching his father having an affair. Sheldon’s explanation of his odd three-knock rule in The Big Bang Theory came out with arguably the darkest story from his childhood, as it involved him walking in on George in bed with another woman. Since then, it has become one of, if not the most anticipated plots in Young Sheldon. For years, the prequel tried to dance around it, and at one point, it didn’t seem like it was going to happen. However, CBS may have just saved it for the show’s final year.

CBS (via TV Promos) has released the trailer for Young Sheldon season 7, episode 4, “Ants on a Log and a Cheating Winker,” which includes a tease that Sheldon’s infamous story may be actually happening. Watch it below:

The Young Sheldon season 7 clip is packed with a lot of revelations, including the Coopers’ reunion as Mary and Sheldon come back home from Germany. It also shows the boy genius returning to East Texas Tech for his final year of college. Amid all of those, however, Sheldon entering his parents’ room and having a stunned look on his face stands out as it’sexactly how he described catching George’s infidelity in The Big Bang Theory.

Will George Really Still Cheat On Mary In Young Sheldon Season 7

Young Sheldon Season 7, Episode 4 Trailer Teases Sheldon Catching His Dad Cheating

Had Young Sheldon stuck to Sheldon’s full story about his dad’s affair, George’s cheating should have already happened sometime towards the end of season 6. However, there was barely any indication that his dad was being unfaithful, especially since the whole family was focused on other things, such as Mandy and Georgie’s newborn, Baby Cece, and Missy’s rebellion. Given how the incident was ignored, it was simply assumed that Young Sheldon chose not to tackle it. That being said, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Aside from Sheldon’s The Big Bang Theory story, however, there hasn’t been any indication that George is being unfaithful. After his and Mary’s big hospital fight about Pastor Rob and Brenda, it seemed like the couple has already moved past their cheating tendencies. Their recently rekindled romance while Mary is in Germany makes it all the more dubious. Given this, it’s possible that there’s more to Sheldon’s story about catching his dad in bed with a woman — something that will finally be revealed in Young Sheldon season 7, episode 4.

Young Sheldon Season 7 Proves That The Big Bang Theory’s Premise Was A Lie

A new character in Young Sheldon season 7 further proves that The Big Bang Theory’s premise and its original depiction of Sheldon was a lie.

For context, only Sheldon ever talked about George’s cheating. Mary and his siblings never brought it up when they made their respective appearances in The Big Bang Theory. Considering George’s confirmed death in the remaining episodes of Young Sheldon, it’s arguably for the better that the prequel doesn’t revisit the narrative anymore unless they are planning to set the story straight about the incident.
