Young Sheldon Clip Reveals Georgie Telling George That Mandy’s Pregnant

Georgie (Montana Jordan) attempts to come clean about getting Mandy (Emily Osment) pregnant in the new Young Sheldon season 5 clip. Fresh from its milestone 100th episode, The Big Bang Theory prequel took another short hiatus. It finally returns this week as it deals with the fallout from Mandy’s bombshell about being pregnant with Georgie’s baby.

For Young Sheldon‘s 100th episode, CBS came up with a jampacked outing with three prominent plotlines. That being said, Georgie’s arc is arguably the one that has the most impact on the series’ future. In it, he confesses to lying about his age so that Mandy would date him. The pair had been sexually active by then, so despite their one-sided break-up, they are now forced to come back together after Mandy discovers that she’s expecting. Aside from dealing with that, Georgie also has to come clean about this to his parents, which he tries to do in the upcoming Young Sheldon episode.

In a new promotional clip for Young Sheldon season 5, episode 18, titled “Babies, Lies and a Resplendent Cannoli,” Georgie comes to Dale (Craig T. Nelson) for advice on the matter. After his conversation with his old boss, he comes across his dad who also offers his ears if he needs to talk about anything. Georgie contemplates opening up to George, but he imagines the Cooper patriarch losing it over the news. Watch the video shared on Young Sheldon‘s official YouTube account below:

The fact that Georgie feels more comfortable coming to Dale about his personal woes is telling of the kind of relationship he has with his parents. While Missy (Raegan Revord) has a special bond with George, Mary (Zoe Perry) is busy coddling Sheldon (Iain Armitage). That leaves the eldest Cooper kid to fend for himself. No wonder he has been motivated to be financially independent as early as possible. Georgie ultimately backs out from opening up to his dad about what happened with Mandy. But, sooner or later, he will have to tell them. For what it’s worth, George’s reaction in the clip is exaggerated; granted that the Cooper patriarch won’t be thrilled with the news, it’s possible that he could eventually get over it and focus on helping his kid instead.

Georgie has a long and difficult road ahead for him on Young Sheldon. Luckily, The Big Bang Theory had already revealed that he will ultimately get past his upcoming problems. When he appeared in the nerd-centric sitcom, he was already the successful owner of Mr. Tire — Texas’ biggest tire chain. No word about still being with Mandy or having a kid in the original series, but he did look happy with how his life turned out. He just needs to get through this rough period first.

Young Sheldon season 5 airs Thursdays on CBS.
