Young Jedi Adventures Season 2: Story, Updates, Everything We Know

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures season 2 could see some of the Jedi Order’s youngest members face some of the High Republic’s most dangerous villains. Young Jedi Adventures is currently the only animated series that takes place during Star Wars’ High Republic era, approximately 200 years before the events of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The show follows Jedi Younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs as they continue their training on the planet Tenoo and beyond. These Jedi Younglings have learned a lot already, but there’s plenty more for them to discover about the Force, the Jedi, and the galaxy as they continue to grow.

Though the show is primarily aimed at young children, the animated series provides a lot of great content for High Republic fans of all ages, too, as it includes familiar characters such as Master Yoda, as well as High Republic favorites like Master Loden Greatstorm and his Padawan, Bell Zettifar. Now that the end of Young Jedi Adventures season 1 is in sight – the final batch of episodes will debut in February – and it’s clear the series will be heading into Phase I of the High Republic’s official storytelling structure, there’s a lot of joy (and heartache) still to come in Young Jedi Adventures season 2.

Young Jedi Adventures Season 2 Hasn’t Been Confirmed By Lucasfilm

At the time of writing, Lucasfilm has yet to officially confirm the renewal of Young Jedi Adventures. However, the show has done well so far – the series has received five Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Pre-School Animated Series, and it has also spawned a plethora of new children’s toys. Given all the success and the show’s critical acclaim, it seems highly unlikely that Young Jedi Adventures won’t be renewed for season 2.

The Story Of Young Jedi Adventures Season 2 Will Be A Lot Darker

The trailer for Young Jedi Adventures season 1’s final batch of episodes has revealed that the season will end with the opening ceremony for Starlight Beacon, a space station situated in the Outer Rim that was meant to help the furthest reaches of the galaxy connect with the Core Worlds. This reveal means that the show is heading into dangerous territory. Once Starlight Beacon becomes operational, a group of marauders known as the Nihil begin to pillage and wreak havoc across the galaxy, targeting both the Jedi and the Republic and eventually destroying Starlight Beacon entirely.

The Nihil have already been featured in Young Jedi Adventures season 1 while trying to steal a Jedi ship, so they’ll likely be featured even more in Young Jedi Adventures season 2. During this time, Master Yoda is traveling the galaxy with a group of Younglings, too, as seen in the High Republic Adventures comic books. As Young Jedi Adventures is made with a specific demographic in mind, Kai, Lys, and Nubs’ story likely won’t become too dark, but the threat of the Nihil will certainly be felt during season 2, should it get the green light.

Which Characters Will Return For Young Jedi Adventures Season 2?

If Young Jedi Adventures does get the go-ahead for season 2, we’d expect all the current main characters to return to the series, including our core trio of Younglings, their teacher, Master Zia, their adventurous pilot friend Nash, and others, too, including their trusty droids, their arch nemesis, a pirate named Taborr, and Master Yoda.

The last episodes of season 1 will be released on February 14 on Disney+. Hopefully, more news about Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures season 2 will be released soon.
