Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Ranking Every Party Member By Least To Most Powerful

Once the popular open-world RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3 slashed its way to the masses in the summer of 2022, critics and casual gamers alike instantly praised the game for its excellent cast of main characters, aka Party Members. Aside from the core party members, roughly 20 playable side characters known as Heroes can be recruited to join the party throughout the game to bolster its Attack, Defense, and Healing prowess.

As for the inherent powers of the six party members, they vary in physical strength and brute force as well as in their unique and upgradable Arts, which boast a versatile array of fighting, regeneration, and protective properties.

6 Taion

More of a passive strategist who supports his party rather than leading with innate strength, Taion is a Healer who belongs to the Tactician class. While he does have a paper-made weapon called Katashiro that he’s proficient at using and has the ability to literally lull enemies to sleep, Taion often takes a backseat and lets his teammates do the heavy lifting.

With that said, one of Taion’s greatest strengths includes his Art of Subjugation Chain Art, which can reduce an enemy’s physical defense by 30-50%. Another involves his Ouroboros Grand Design Chain Art, which grants him the ability to interlink with Eunie to fully heal his teammates. While healers may not be as powerful as the multifaceted party members who can attack, heal, and defends all at once, Taion is more of a tactical thinker than a formidable fighter.

5 Eunie

Eunie holds her Gunrod in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

While Eunie is arguably the most likable party member in the popular 2022 open-world game, as a Healer, she isn’t quite as powerful as her Attacker and Defender contemporaries. However, as a member of the Medic Gunner class, Eunie has the ability to heal as well as fight thanks to her Gunrod blade, which doubles as a gun and healing instrument when in battle. Therefore, her versatility is extremely valuable for healing and buffing the party.

While her skills leave a lot to be desired (save for her Wings of Healing ability), Eunie’s Sacred Cannon Talent Art can increase Moebius’s damage by 200%, and her Lightning Arrow art can block attacks by 100%. Unfortunately, Eunie can only interlink with Taion, another Healer, which limits the overall potency of her Ouroboros fusion.

4 Sena

Despite her petite physique, Sena is a dynamite Attacker from the Ogre class who is far more powerful than she appears in the great 2022 JRPG. Between her almighty Comet Mallet weapon and Bombshell Blitz Talent Art, Sena can inflict massive damage while also rendering her chain attacks unblockable by 70-100%. Once interlinked with Lanz in Ouroboros form, Sena can deal even deadlier heavy damage, especially when using her Big Bang Implosion chain art.

Beyond her awesome Hammer Revolution, Mortal Bullet, and Hellhound attacking Arts, Sena’s Ouroboros skills take her power to another level. For instance, her Explosive Spirit skill can increase damage dealt by 50%, and her Utterly Crushing skill can reduce enemy shielding by 100%. If it weren’t for her inherent size and stature compared with Lanz, Sena might earn the edge.

3 Lanz

Lanz holds his arms up in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

A brute strongman with immense physical power who acts as a party’s impenetrable shield, Lanz belongs to the Heavy Guard class of Defenders in the all-time popular JRPG. Lanz’s hulking physique is bolstered by his signature Shieldblade, which doubles as a shield and ultra-lethal Gatling gun. Between his Tyrant Wave Talent Art that can increase his aggro by 35-50% and Winning Rush Launch Combo, Lanz is almost as powerful as Mio and Noah.

Lanz is at his most formidable when channeling his Demon Punisher Ouroboros chain art, which substantially boosts the damage ratio while limiting the Attacker and Healer aggro. Even more impressive, Lanz’s Strength in Adversity skill increases damage by up to a staggering 300% the more enemies target him. A great protector and fighter at once, Lanz may come across as a simpleton, but he’s an extremely powerful party member to play with.

2 Noah

Noah holds a red and gold weapon in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

As a main protagonist, it stands to reason that Noah is the second-most powerful party member. Belonging to the Swordfighter class, Noah is a fierce Attacker by nature who wields immense power with his weapons and Talent Arts, which includes his Veiled Sword, Origin Blade, and supremely deadly Lucky Seven Sword, which can not only cut through anything but also further grants him access to three advanced Arts: Talent Blade, Unlimited Sword, and Final Lucky Seven.

Between Noah’s AoE-piercing Mega Spinning Edge, Phantom Slash, and Dragon Tail Arts, the party member has answers for every type of combatant on the battlefield. But what really makes him so powerful is his ability to interlink with Mio in Ouroboros form, which grants him even stronger skills like the Omnipresent Blade, which can increase Critical Damage rates by 20%, and his Satisfying Piercer skill, which can boost critical hit damage by up to 50%.

1 Mio

Mio wields dual ring blades in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

As one of the two chief protagonists, Mio is by far the most powerful party member to play in the popular Nintendo Switch open-world game. A member of the almighty Zephyr class of Defenders, Mio’s lightning-quick speed allows her to remain nearly untouched on the battlefield, and her ultra-lethal weaponry paired with her deadly Talent Arts gives her a clear advantage over her contemporaries.

Mio’s intense Dominion Flower Talent Art delivers massive AoE burst damage to go with her trademark Dual Moonblades, extremely-powerful swords equipped with yellow energy blades. With her Jaguar Slash Bleeding Art, Dual Fang AoE Art, and more, Mio’s defensive prowess alone put her atop the heap. But when interlinked with Noah in her Ouroboros form, Mio can channel her Death By 1,000 cuts chain art to greatly increase her enemy’s damage rate while also decreasing Attacker and Healer aggro. Even gnarlier, Mio’s Biting Back and Subtle Strike skills can deal up to 200% Attack damage.
