A special new Doritos costume for Forza Horizon 5 drivers will be available through a new contest that focuses on Xbox Game Pass. The contest features several perks for Xbox Game Pass subscribers for many games on the service, but the strange Forza outfit is a certainly a standout. While the game has always included player costumes, until now players have never had the option to dress as a favorite snack.
Forza Horizon 5 released last fall to much fan anticipation, and quickly became one of the most critically-acclaimed titles in the long-running racing series. The gorgeous 4K title is set in an open-world Mexico, and offers a myriad of ways for players to customize their experience. Players can customize not only their car but their avatar as well, with a wide selection of face and clothes to choose from. While some outfits can be purchased with in-game currency, others are made available through completing certain tasks and events – for example, the special Forza Horizon 5 Snowman costume that’s unlocked by destroying various snowmen.
A new post from Xbox Wire, Microsoft’s Xbox news section, has revealed a partnership with Doritos and Rockstar Energy Drink that includes a series of limited-time items. When players purchase specially-marked products from either brand, first-time subscribers will receive a free month of Xbox Game Pass, and all players will receive their pick of special in-game items. These include the Forza Horizon 5 costume called the “Tankito Doritos” outfit, a PUBG: Battlegrounds “Dinoland Mascot Suit,” and Fallout 76 “Heat-Eater Power Armor Paint.” The promotion runs from October 3 until December 30, and while some items are only available to US subscribers, several are available internationally as well. Redeeming the product codes will also enter players to win other prizes “including Xbox Series S consoles, Xbox Wireless Controllers, PC gaming setups, gaming chairs and other amazing gear from Xbox, Doritos and Rockstar Energy.”
