WWE 2K22 Player Recreates Red Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur Morgan

Thanks to one skilled WWE 2K22 player, Red Dead Redemption 2 anti-hero Arthur Morgan is ready to trade the Old West for the Squared Circle. While 2K Games and Visual Concepts’ most recent wrestling simulator isn’t without its flaws and missing features, WWE 2K22 is seen by many as a marked improvement over past WWE titles and offers would-be superstars with plenty of options for fulfilling their dreams of dominating the ring. These include the Rey Mysterio-centric 2K Showcase Mode, WWE 2K22‘s career-based MyRise, and team-oriented MyFaction – a new addition to the franchise that allows players to build their own stable of grapplers to take on other groups using collectible Power Cards.

As with most of WWE’s past video game offerings, WWE 2K22 contains an in-depth character creation suite that lets players craft their dream competitor to either rule the ring in standard exhibition matches or ascend to the ranks of WWE stardom in MyRise. Aside from creating a completely original persona from scratch, fans have also used WWE 2K22’s creation suite to recreate popular characters from movies, shows, and video games. This can even extend to real-life celebrities, as shown in a recent WWE 2K22 backstage brawl between real-life rivals Kanye West and Pete Davidson. Best of all, players can upload their custom wrestlers to WWE 2K22’s online server, allowing other fans to build their own dream rosters full of famous characters across all forms of entertainment media.

Reddit user HectorBarbossaTheGod recently added Red Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur Morgan to that roster, sharing their custom WWE 2K22 version of the legendary outlaw on r/reddeadremption (via Game Rant). Arthur’s appearance and outfit from Red Dead Redemption 2 are captured with an impressive level of detail, and HectorBarbossaTheGod has already posted their creation to the WWE 2K22 servers under the handle of marcoandtarmaII. HectorBarbossaTheGod is a prolific member of WWE 2K22’s creative community, having crafted characters from games like God Of War and Grand Theft Auto 5. Their iteration of Arthur Morgan has drawn plenty of praise from RDR2 fans, who have already asked about adding other outlaws like Dutch van der Linde, John Marston, and Micah to the growing library of custom characters in WWE 2K22.

Gamers were first introduced to Arthur Morgan in 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2, which serves as a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption and takes place during the late 1800s. Arthur serves as a contrast to previous protagonist John Marston, being less idealistic and valuing his loyalty to the Van der Linde gang above all else. This loyalty is put to the test during the events of RDR 2, which sees Arthur and his fellow gang members fleeing from the law after a bank robbery gone awry. The deep narrative that follows this, as well as RDR2’s large open-world setting that is filled with various side quests and hidden details, has helped earn Rockstar’s homage to the Old West its current reputation as one of the most critically and commercially successful video games of all time.

Arthur Morgan’s roguish personality, sharp tongue, and penchant for physical combat would make him a good fit for the brutal world of professional wrestling, and HectorBarbossaTheGod’s custom version of Red Dead Redemption 2’s protagonist allows WWE 2K22 players to bring this legend of the Old West to the ring. The sky truly is the limit to what (or who) players can dream up in WWE 2K22, meaning that even playable characters from massive triple-A games could become future WWE champions.
