Wonder Woman 1984 Toy Reveals Cheetah’s Final Form In More Detail

Wonder Woman 1984 Toy Reveals Cheetah’s Final Form In More Detail

A new Wonder Woman 1984 Cheetah toy provides a detailed look at what the character will look like in her final form, including cat paws for feet. The sequel is slated to be the first DC Extended Universe movie to be released since the theater shutdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic. After initially having a release date in December 2019, Wonder Woman 1984 was delayed to June of this year, only to be pushed back two more times due to the pandemic. The sequel is now scheduled to hit theaters on October 2.

The sequel sees the return of Gal Gadot as the titular hero, while Chris Pine will come back as Steve Trevor. Patty Jenkins, who won plaudits for the first film’s combination of emotional depth, action scenes, and humor, is directing again. Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal will also appear, with Pascal taking on the role of Maxwell Lord, one of Wonder Woman’s foes in the movie. Wiig plays Barbara Minerva, a shy archaeologist who transforms into the classic Wonder Woman villain Cheetah. So far, trailers have mostly shied away from showing Wiig in her full Cheetah costume, barring one small glimpse of her face makeup, leading fans to get clues from a Cheetah Halloween costume and now, a toy.

An online listing for a Wonder Woman 1984 Cheetah doll from Walmart shows photos of the toy, including the full Cheetah costume. Assuming the toy is movie-accurate, this is the most detailed look we’ve gotten at Cheetah’s costume yet. The biggest reveal is that the character seems to have cat-like paws instead of feet, teasing that her transformation is more than just a costume. You can see photos of the toy below, including a close-up look at the feet.

This ties into the comic book origin of the character, in which she shifts between her human form and her cat form. A recent video was released, which also teased the fact that Wiig’s version of the character will undergo a full physical transformation into an apex predator. Hopefully, the final look of Cheetah is less unnerving than the toy looks in these photos.

Given that it seems like Cheetah will have an actual transformation that’s true to the comics, Gadot’s Wonder Woman looks to have quite the battle ahead of her. Not only will Diana Prince have to contend with this supernatural villain, but also the aforementioned Maxwell Lord. The combination of these two characters will hopefully give her a greater challenge than the one she faced in the first Wonder Woman. Regardless, fans are just hoping that Cheetah will be properly adapted for the big screen when Wonder Woman 1984 finally hits theaters.
