Wolverine’s New Demon Form Is His Coolest Redesign in Years

Wolverine’s New Demon Form Is His Coolest Redesign in Years

Marvel’s Wolverine is getting a demon upgrade, as a new variant cover from Ryan Stegman features the popular X-Men hero as you’ve never seen him before. In the Demonized variant starring Logan from Marvel Comics, the hero trades in his usual costume for a much darker look, as Wolverine becomes a demon as his appearance and claws get a rebar-like armor that transforms the mutant into a much more sinister version of his usual self.

While Wolverine has one of the most classic looks in comics, the X-Men hero has taken on some different and horrifying appearances, costumes, and armors in his history in the pages of Marvel Comics. From Wolverine’s most feral form, which completely changed how he looked, to when Logan became unrecognizable after becoming Apocalypse’s Horseman of Death, Marvel hasn’t been afraid to change the hero’s look when the story called for it. However, Wolverine’s new Demonized variant shows off the mutant in an all-new form that has the clawed-brawler getting a dark, unusual look he hasn’t sported before.

In new Marvel Comics art from Ryan Stegman as part of Marvel’s upcoming Demonized variant covers, Wolverine swaps his usual costume for a new armor that makes the hero a literal demon. The art turns Logan into a fiend, as the hero is transformed, with rebar-like skin, as he sports a horrifying smile as his claws are unsheathed as he appears to be mid-attack. Wolverine’s new appearance is almost like an igneous rock armor covering his skin, as he’s truly embraced coming a demon, as he wouldn’t look misplaced alongside Mephisto in Marvel’s version of Hell.

Wolverine Isn’t The Only Hero Getting a Demon Upgrade

Wolverine isn’t the only hero getting a Demonized new form, as both Matt Murdock and Elektra Natchios’ Daredevil are starring in a similarly transformative cover from Kendrick Lim. Meanwhile, Shang-Chi is almost getting a Demonized costume upgrade, as he takes on an all-new form in a variant cover from Philip Tan. Like the Wolverine art from Ryan Stegman, the heroes in the other covers get all-new looks matching the demonic theme of the variants.

Ultimately, Wolverine’s demonic upgrade makes an already uber-powerful mutant hero even more terrifying. By becoming a demon, who knows what Logan is truly capable of – but solely based on his looks, he’s the last hero you’d want to encounter with a demonic power upgrade. Readers can pre-order the Demonized cover from Ryan Stegman, as Wolverine #29 featuring the new version of Logan arrives in comic book stores in January 2023.
