Winnie The Pooh Cosplay Video Is Even More Terrifying Than Blood & Honey Horror Movie

A Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey cosplay makes the titular bear even more scary. Released last year, the British horror flick hails from filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield and imagines a universe in which A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard’s iconic children’s book character is a murderous monster attempting to kill Christopher Robin and a group of college women. The film, which gives Pooh a terrifying makeover, was a hit at the box office despite being universally panned by critics, and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 was released earlier this year.

As audiences await news on the announced Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3, cosplay artist @hollymurraymakeup on Instagram transforms herself into the scary version of Pooh seen in the films. Check out the cosplay below:

While the cosplay itself is already quite terrifying to begin with, what makes the video even more frightening is how the look transforms as Holly tears the prosthetics off of her face.

Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood & Honey’s Biggest Strength Is Its Creature Design

How Blood & Honey 3 Can Raise The Bar

Blood and Honey became something of a viral sensation after its first trailer, with its twisting of such a beloved childhood character evidently piquing viewers’ interest. While the film itself wasn’t particularly well-received, it ended up making over $5 million at the box office on a budget of only about $50,000. The storytelling, scares, and performances were common points of complaint in the reviews, but there’s no denying that the movie’s designs for Pooh and Piglet were impressive given the budgetary restraints.

Blood and Honey 2 is estimated to have had a budget of about $500,000, and a chunk of this went to redesigns for Pooh and Piglet. In addition to these two beloved characters, the sequel also introduces Tigger and Owl, and all four monsters look creepier than ever. The reviews for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 were much more positive (though still mixed overall), and the practical creature designs once more remain a highlight.

The third film is expected to introduce even more characters from Milne’s original stories, including Rabbit and the heffalumps, transforming these friendly-looking creatures into villainous horrors. The key to each creature so far has been keeping it identifiable as Milne’s original creation while making the overall look far more disturbing. While the storytelling of the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey movies is lacking for some critics, it’s clear that Frake-Waterfield has an eye for turning childhood comfort characters into the stuff of nightmares.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is a modern horror film featuring the characters from the classic story written by A.A. Milne. Christopher Robin used to spend his spare time with Pooh Bear, piglet, and the other creatures of the wood, but now that he’s grown older, he heads off to college, leaving Pooh and his friends to fend for themselves. As Christopher used to bring them food, they now have little food and turn savage, with Pooh and Piglet slaying the other forest friends to survive. Following Christopher Robin’s return, Pooh and Piglet begin a murderous rampage that leads to a group of vacationing college girls.
