Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood & Honey 2 Box Set To Include Mystery Extended Death Scene & “Ruined Childhoods” Book

Warning: Some SPOILERS lie ahead for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2!

With the movie’s success bolstering future plans for the new horror franchise, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is getting a special box set release. The 2024 horror sequel serves as the second installment in The Twisted Childhood Universe, following Christopher Robin as he’s hunted down by Pooh, Tigger and Owl for revealing their existence to the outside world. Produced on a larger budget than its predecessor, the movie has been seen as a dramatic improvement over its predecessor, albeit falling far short of its box office haul.

Nearly a month after the movie hit theaters, Umbrella Entertainment has revealed a special Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 box set is releasing on July 17. The Blu-ray Collector’s Edition will include a variety of special features, including a mystery extended death scene, audio commentary with the cast and crew, behind-the-scenes featurettes and deleted scenes. The box set will also include 16 artcards, an A3 reversible poster and a Ruined Childhoods 16-page book entitled “The Sticky Story of a Bloody Pooh”. Check out the images of the box set below:

How Blood & Honey 2 Put The TCU On The Right Track

The tease of an extended death scene without anyone mentioned proves to be an enticing one for those who enjoyed Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. One of the many changes made to the sequel was an increased body count in its 95-minute runtime, with everyone from random partiers to hunters to those close to Christopher being killed by Pooh and Owl. Of the various characters whose deaths were relatively quick in the movie, Christopher’s father seems the most likely to be in this extended scene, having been kept off-screen.

With the various other special features and collectibles included in the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 box set, it should continue the growing interest in The Twisted Childhood Universe‘s future. Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield has teased his plans for an interconnected franchise of horror takes on childhood properties since the first movie’s release, with his studio Jagged Edge Productions confirming moving ahead with all of them ahead of Blood and Honey 2‘s debut. Though the home video market may not be as lucrative as the theatrical one, with digital and streaming on the rise, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 doing well with its Collector’s Edition box set would be the ultimate sign for Frake-Waterfield and his team that the TCU has a future beyond their announced projects. Given most of them are already in various stages of production, it seems likely that Jagged Edge are not as concerned about their performances influencing whether the others get made. But with Frake-Waterfield clearly having plans well beyond, home media releases can be just as important as theatrical ones.
