Will Halo Season 2 Finally Visit The Titular World? Paramount+ Star Gives Promising Response

Pablo Schreiber teases whether Master Chief will finally visit the titular location in Halo season 2. The Paramount+ sci-fi show is an adaptation of the influential video game franchise that centers on a galaxy-spanning conflict between humanity and a powerful alien alliance named the Covenant. Halo season 1 introduced the key players and central conflict of the game, depicting events set long before the original 2001 Xbox game, Halo: Combat Evolved.

As Halo season 2 draws closer, Schreiber has teased whether it will adapt the events of the first game when speaking to Collider. He avoided giving a direct answer, but hinted that it was highly likely that the new season will bring the show in line with humanity’s discovery of the first Halo ring. Check out Schreiber’s full tease below:

Halo Has Already Established A Potentially Different Path To Installation 04

The events of Halo season 2 are already confirmed to lead into the original 2001 video game through its depiction of the Covenant glassing Reach. Introduced in season 1 as humanity’s most valuable world outside of Earth, the invasion of Reach was first established in the 2001 prequel novel Halo: The Fall of Reach and further explored in 2010’s prequel video game Halo Reach. Within the game’s continuity, the Master Chief boards the Pillar of Autumn to flee the lost stronghold, making a random slipspace jump to Installation 04, the first Halo ring.

On the other hand, the Halo TV show’s “Silver Timeline” has already established the rings for humanity through Chief and Makee’s (Charlie Murphy) shared visions via their interactions with the artifact. With humanity knowing of the rings and already setting their sights on them, it remains to be seen whether the Chief eventually reaching Halo will be an intentional choice or another leap of faith. The discovery of Halo may be tied and condensed into Operation: RED FLAG, a mission designed to end the war in the original continuity.

Regardless of how the Master Chief reaches the ringworld, the discovery of Installation 04 in the series will change how newcomers view Halo‘s narrative. Within the original game’s lore, the discovery of the first Halo completely shifted humanity’s understanding of the universe, opening them to new wonders, horrors, and political shifts that changed not just the war, but the galaxy forever. As such, Schreiber’s tease of the ringworld’s debut sets up an exciting and potentially unexpected future for Halo.
