Why The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner Shouldn’t Choose Faith Martin

The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner is in love with Faith Martin, but Faith might not be the right woman for Gerry. Gerry had three spectacular hometown dates with Faith, Theresa Nist, and Leslie Fhima. At the rose ceremony that followed, Gerry gave his first rose to Leslie. However, when it came time to choose between Faith and Theresa, Gerry broke down in tears and left the room, leaving the episode with a cliffhanger.

Throughout The Golden Bachelor, Gerry and Faith have built a strong relationship. On premiere night, she rode in on a motorcycle and later sang a song for him while playing the guitar. Gerry gave her his first impression rose, saying that she made him feel special. Their one-on-one date was magical. Gerry also had a wonderful time with Faith’s family on her hometown date, and they even said that they loved each other in front of her family. However, as Gerry makes his final decision, he might realize that Faith isn’t the right choice for him.

Faith Is Unwilling To Move Away From Her Family For Gerry

On The Golden Bachelor, Gerry, who’s from Hudson, Indiana, visited Faith’s hometown of Benton City, Washington. During her hometown date, Faith told Gerry that she felt a pull to be close to her sons. She said that she wanted to make sure that her kids knew that any time they needed her, she’d be there for them. She confessed that it would be really important to her. Faith also revealed that her horse is buried on her land. Gerry admitted that he wasn’t sure how they would reconcile that. However, he said that the upside of it was that their relationship was so good.

Faith Lives Too Far Away From Gerry

When Gerry arrived in Faith’s hometown, she told him that Benton City was very rural, probably more than what Gerry was used to. She said that she even rides her horse to the grocery store or up to the tavern sometimes. In her confessional, Faith admitted that she was worried that Gerry is from the “country-city,” and might think that where she lived was too rural. Faith and Gerry went horseback riding on the date, and he told her he was completely comfortable with it. His concern was more how and where would they spend time together.

Faith’s hometown of Benton City, Washington is about a 32-hour car ride from Gerry’s hometown of Hudson, Indiana. It’s also about a 4-hour flight. That distance might prove to be too much for Faith and Gerry, if neither one of them is willing to relocate so far away from their families. It’s understandable that they’re hesitant to uproot their entire lives for someone they’ve known for such a short time, especially since they’re parents and grandparents and needed in their families. Because of this, Gerry might not be able to choose Faith in the end.

Faith and Gerry love each other, and she’d make a perfect partner for him. However, the fact that they live so far away from each other might be too big of an obstacle at this point in their lives. Faith’s devotion to her family is admirable and understandable. After seeing her interact with them, it’s clear that she’d never move so far away from them. Faith is an intriguing, talented, kind, and beautiful woman, but, she might not be the one for Gerry. Hopefully, they’ll both find the true love they’re searching for if they don’t end up together on The Golden Bachelor.

The Golden Bachelor airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
