Why Producers Thought Filming The Bachelorette Season Was ‘Hell’

The Bachelorette season 19 premieres this Monday, July 11, and fans are very eager to see how this season will play out, especially after producers compared filming to “hell.” This season will feature 31-year-old Gabby Windey and 26-year-old Rachel Recchia, who both finished as the runner-up on The Bachelor season 26 with Clayton Echard. For the first time in the history of The Bachelorette, this season will feature both women for the entire season, and producers reportedly didn’t have the best time filming.

Former The Bachelor lead, Nick Viall, gave viewers a run down of how this season will work while recording his podcast, The Viall Files. For viewers, when they discovered the show would have two Bachelorettes for the whole season, they were confused about how that would work. Now, their questions have been answered, and it seems like the task was not easy.

According to Cosmopolitan, The Bachelorette season 19 will work similarly to Bachelor in Paradise. This means that if one suitor gets rejected by Gabby or Rachel, they have the option to date the other Bachelorette if they would like to. Nick confirmed that the leads Gabby and Rachel won’t compete against each other for the men; however, he did state, “If it doesn’t work out, like if, let’s say Gabby was like, feeling it with ‘Frank.’ ‘Frank’ could be like, ‘Rachel, sup?’ There’s a little bit of like, options, right? And the thing about Paradise, what makes it different is people have options.”

Why Producers Thought Filming The Bachelorette Season Was ‘Hell’

However, producers revealed that this season was “hell to film.” The decision to have two Bachelorettes was made at the last minute, so everything, scheduling-wise, was for one Bachelorette. They had to jam everything in to fit two Bachelorettes to make the season work. However, if having two Bachelorettes becomes a hit, the producers said they would shut down the idea due to the logistics of everything. However, this isn’t the first time two Bachelorettes have been on the season, but it is the first time there will be two for the entirety of the season. With this idea being something new, no one is sure how it is going to work out in the end.

The Bachelorette season 19 premieres tonight, and many fans are excited to see how this season is going to play out. It has been stated many times that Gabby and Rachel will not be pit against each other during their search to find love; however, no one knows what will happen if one of the suitors likes both Bachelorettes. Regardless, there is bound to be drama on the season like always, so viewers need to tune in to find out everything that goes down this season.
