Why It’s Time For Big Brother 25’s Jag Bains & Matt Klotz To Turn On Each Other (Spoilers)

Big Brother 25 houseguests Jag Bains and Matt Klotz have been in a Final 2 alliance called the Minutemen for many weeks, but the time has come when they’ll have to turn on each other. Jag and Matt are strong players, with Jag being more of a competition beast, and Matt having an incredible social game. Jag and Matt put themselves in the perfect position to make it to the end of the game by creating alliances with Cameron Hardin, Blue Kim, Cory Wurtenberger and America Lopez, Cirie Fields and Felicia Cannon, and Bowie Jane. As the weeks have passed, they’ve turned on Cameron, Blue, Cory, America, and Cirie.

As they head toward the Big Brother 25 finale, Matt and Jag will most likely want to stay loyal to each other. They’ve not only helped each other through the game, but they’re also very good friends. In week 4, Matt saved Jag from his unanimous eviction with the Power of Invincibility, while Jag has protected Matt by winning several competitions late in the game. However, each of them would be more likely to win the $750,000 grand prize against Bowie or Felicia. Therefore, it’s time for Jag and Matt’s alliance to end, either at the Final 4 or the Final 3.

One of Jag’s biggest accomplishments is making it to the Final 3 after being unanimously evicted in week 4. He’d avoided eviction the week before, but it seemed that his time was up. However, Matt used the Power of Invincibility to save Jag from being eliminated from the house. In the following weeks, Jag still posed a threat with his strategic and competitive gameplay, but he positioned himself well in alliances with his fellow houseguests and won two HOH competitions. Therefore, he was only nominated once more during week 5.

Jag has also won the most competitions overall of any of the Big Brother 25 houseguests. He won the premiere night BB Comics game almost immediately, saving himself from being nominated. Jag’s now tied with Janelle Pierzina and Michael Bruner for the most single-season combined HOH and Power of Veto wins with nine. Jag won the Head of Household (HOH) competition in weeks 11 and 12. However, Jag’s Power of Veto record is even more impressive. During week 11, he set a new record for the classic spinning competition by holding on to his rope and standing on his swinging disc for an incredible time of 2 hours 6 minutes 33 seconds.

Jag has now won seven Power of Veto competitions, setting a new single-season record after Big Brother 24’s Michael Bruner broke Janelle’s record which had stood for 16 years. Michael had won six vetoes, while Janelle had won five. Jag’s week 14 Power of Veto win means that he’s guaranteed a place in the Final 3 alongside current HOH Bowie Jane. He also now has the power to choose which of Bowie’s nominees will join them: Matt or Felicia.

For the first half of Big Brother 25, Matt’s only competition win was the Power of Invincibility, which he used to save Jag from eviction. However, on day 51, he won the Power of Veto during the double eviction. On day 86, he won the Power of Veto in the second double eviction. Matt also won the HOH competition during week 13.

Matt has relied more on his social game so far this season, which has been a great strategy for him. Everyone loves him in the house, and he made it all the way to the Final 4 without ever being nominated. However, in week 14, he was put on the chopping block by HOH Bowie Jane for the first time this season.

Jag & Matt Are Almost Guaranteed A Win Against Bowie Jane Or Felicia Cannon

Jag and Matt are more likely to win the final HOH competition against Bowie or Felicia. After that, they’d be better off sitting next to one of them instead of each other in the Final 2. Their situation is reminiscent of Big Brother 16, when Cody Calafiore won the final HOH competition and chose to stay loyal to his Final 2 Hitmen alliance member Derrick Levasseur rather than choose Victoria Rafaeli to sit next to him in the Final 2 chairs. Cody would definitely have won the grand prize versus Victoria, but he chose Derrick instead. This is widely regarded to be one of the biggest mistakes in Big Brother history.

Now that Jag has the power to choose either Felicia or Matt to join him and Bowie in the Final 3, he should evict Matt at this point. Then he’ll be competing against Bowie and Felicia in the final HOH competition, which would almost guarantee him the win. If Jag keeps Matt, there’s a possibility that Matt could win the final HOH competition and not take Jag to the Final 2.

Felicia has already warned Jag that Matt told Cirie that he was thinking about backdooring Jag when was HOH, which was true. However, Jag has also revealed that he’d rather go to the end with Bowie than Matt. It would be understandable for Jag to cut Matt now, or for Matt and Jag to not choose each other in the Final 2 if they win the last HOH competition. It’s likely that neither of them would view being evicted by the other as a betrayal, but rather a necessary strategic game move. Based on how they’ve turned on their past allies, Jag and Matt understand that personal feelings can’t get in the way of winning the grand prize.

Jag and Matt are both making history on Big Brother 25. Jag is the first Sikh-Punjabi houseguest ever to compete on the show, while Matt is the first contestant who’s deaf. They’ve both brought awareness to their communities, and have worked hard to make them proud. Jag and Matt have supported each other both in the game and personally throughout Big Brother 25. They both are strong competitors who deserve to win Big Brother 25, but that can only happen for one of them.

If Jag and Matt take each other to the Big Brother 25 Final 2, they’re risking coming in second. However, taking either Bowie or Felicia, who are widely considered to be weaker players than them, would be a much more strategic move. Unfortunately, that would mean that the friends and allies would have to turn on each other. Although this would be heartbreaking to see, it would be the best move to set up a situation in which Jag or Matt could win the $750,000 grand prize.

Big Brother season 25 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT, Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT, and Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
