Why Black Widow Is More Powerful Than You Thought

Here’s how Black Widow is more powerful than you think in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Scarlett Johansson made her debut as the Russian spy turned S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow in Iron Man 2 almost nine years ago. She’s since become a major character in the MCU, and one that fans have been wanting to see more of.

Throughout her six movie appearances to date, Black Widow has proven time and time again that she can be one of the biggest heroes around, even though she doesn’t have a traditional superhuman power set. She didn’t get powers from an experiment, at birth, or from a suit, but rather had to learn all of her powers and skills over time. Natasha may just be a normal human being, but that doesn’t mean that she isn’t powerful in her own way – and many may be underestimating all she can do.

In Screen Rant’s latest video, we take a look at Black Widow’s portrayal in the MCU to show how she’s more powerful than most give her credit for. It all comes down to the skills that she’s learned and mastered over time, which makes her one of the most versatile members of the Avengers. Check out the full breakdown in the video featured at the top of this post.

Why Black Widow Is More Powerful Than You Thought

It really is a credit to Natasha’s character and drive that she’s become this lethal and useful. Her upbringing in the Red Room gave her plenty of these skills, such as her marksmanship, prowess in several forms of martial arts, and ability to use many different types of weapons. All of these spy skills extend to how she can use seduction, disguises, and more espionage tactics to take down her enemies. And as we mentioned before, her ability in battle is not to be overlooked, as she’s defeated regular humans, robots, and aliens – including Proxima Midnight.

As powerful and skilled as she’s already shown herself to be, Black Widow will still have a few more chances to show the world what she’s made of in the future. She’s set to appear in Avengers: Endgame later this month and the Avengers may need every bit of her physical and brain power to be victorious. But, Marvel Studios is also finally going to give her a solo film that’ll help add even more to her story. It’s currently not confirmed if Black Widow will be a prequel film or take place after Endgame though. Either way, it’s great to know that Black Widow still has a future in the MCU, and will get more opportunities to put her power on display.
