By the end of that season, Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Malia White descended from fan favorite to notorious villain after she told Captain Sandy Yawn that chief stew Hannah Ferrier had anxiety medication on board, which Hannah was immediately fired for. Although she returned for Below Deck Med season 6, Malia’s reputation never fully recovered, and was replaced by Storm Smith for Below Deck Med season 7. After her last appearance on Below Deck Med, Malia not only dated engineer Jake Baker until December 2022 but recently became an Officer of the Watch, a second-in-command position.

Since Below Deck Med season 6, Malia’s face has noticeably slimmed down, which has especially affected her jawbone and cheekbones. Although some Reddit users proposed that Malia has had plastic surgery or other cosmetic procedures, most agree that Malia’s transformation is the simple result of age. “Why do we always jump to surgery if someone looks a bit different?
