Who’s The Boss Sequel Show With Original Stars Lands At Freevee

The long-in-development Who’s the Boss sequel series has landed a home at Amazon Freevee. Created by Martin Cohan and Blake Hunter, Who’s the Boss ran for eight successful seasons on ABC from 1984-1992. Starring Tony Danza and Judith Light, Who’s the Boss centered on former baseball player Tony Michelli (Danza) and divorced executive Angela Bower (Light) after Tony becomes Angela’s live-in housekeeper and moves in with his daughter, Samantha (Alyssa Milano). Earlier this year, Milano announced that a sequel series to Who’s the Boss has been in development for years. Recently, Danza confirmed Milano’s comments and said the series was waiting for the right team of writers.

Now, the series finally receives a major update. Per Deadline, the Who’s the Boss sequel series lands at Amazon Freevee. The new series will see Danza and Milano reprise their roles as Tony and Samantha. Set thirty years after the events of Who’s the Boss, the comedy series will follow the father and daughter duo as Samantha tackles single parenthood. Helmed by Norman Lear, the Who’s the Boss sequel series will be penned by Mike Royce and Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz.

For now, it’s unknown if Light will reprise her role as Angela in the series. According to Danza and Light’s previous comments, Angela could return for the new installment in a small part, as the series intends to focus on the relationship between Tony and Samantha. Of course, the Who’s the Boss sequel series could also feature an appearance from original cast member Danny Pintauro (Jonathan Bower) and a tribute to the late Katherine Helmond, who portrayed Mona Robinson. Now that Who’s the Boss has found a home, more details could be coming soon.
