Whitney Thore’s Biggest Highs & Lows On & Offscreen

Fans of My Big Fat Fabulous Life have loved Whitney Way Thore since she first appeared on the show, and it’s time to discuss her biggest ups and downs throughout the years. Whitney has always been a pillar of strength within the body-positive community, and fans have looked up to her since day one. Whitney has impressive coping skills and often teaches viewers valuable life lessons as they enjoy her series.

The trained dancer first became famous back in 2015, when a Greensboro morning show, Jared and Katie in the Morning on 107.5 KZL, shared Whitney’s “Fat Girl Dancing” video. At the time, the video had more than eight million views, and it caught the attention of the TLC network. Since that fateful day, Whitney has been one of TLC’s breakout stars, and fans love her. My Big Fat Fabulous Life viewers have been extremely supportive of the star. They keep watching as she has happy and stressful moments.

Reality star Whitney has always been fab, and throughout the years, she has gone through a few transformations, in terms of her love life and her looks. One of her lowest moments occurred before MBFFL cameras were rolling. When Whitney was attending college, the dancer gained more than 200 pounds. She was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). For years, she struggled due to her weight gain. During tough times, she turned to dance. She often made videos with her dance partner and friend, Todd Beasley. The talented duo caught the attention of millions of YouTubers, which sparked one of her major highs. She was offered her own reality TV series.

Whitney kept winning when she formed the No Body Shame Movement. She would tour around the United States, sharing her story and encouraging others to love themselves as they are, rather than wishing they looked different. In a now-deleted 2018 Instagram post, Whitney shared another private low when she revealed that she suffered from bulimia, which involved binging and purging. She also explained that she would restrict her caloric intake and over-exercise. This behavior caused her to hate her own body.

For multiple seasons, the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star has shared her body-positive journey (and ups and downs) for all to see. The newest season premiered in August, and it shows Whitney recovering from a low point, which was Chase dumping her. Now, Whitney is moving on. She has found a new French beau that she really likes. Whitney continues to lead a blissful life and is currently having way more ups than downs. This pleases TLC viewers.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life airs Wednesday at 9 p.m EST on TLC.
