Which Spartacus Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac?

Starz hit show Spartacus took the TV landscape by storm in the early 2010s thanks to its bloody battle scenes, frequent nudity, and abundance of one-liners in the dialogue. The series covered the tale of legendary Thracian gladiator Spartacus and his rebellion against the Roman Empire that lasted from 75 BC to 71 BC.

Spartacus was packed with great characters, blended with great character development. Some of the characters were easy to root for while some were completely despicable in a manner that added to the overall entertainment value. Here is where each of the popular characters fits on the zodiac.

Crassus – Aries

Which Spartacus Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac?

Crassus was the man who finally put an end to the rebellion when everyone else had failed. Like a true Aries, he was brave and confident in his abilities. He knew that it was only a matter of time before he brought Spartacus down and it eventually happened.

Crassus wasn’t afraid of Spartacus either. He even confronted the man and asked his guards to leave him alone with him so that they could talk and promise each other doom. Perhaps his only Aries weakness was being temperamental, judging from how brutally he punished the soldiers who retreated.

Crixus – Taurus

Determination, patience, and devotion are some of the traits that people under the Taurus constellation have. They are also known to be stoic. Crixus was devoted to his love Naevia and was determined to find her when the slaves broke free.

He also demonstrated his stoicism by being also able to endure plenty of punishment and hardship after he beat up Ashur for touching Naevia. But just like other people with Taurus as their zodiac, he was stubborn too. He frequently differed with Spartacus on how to attack the Romans and later chose his own way.

Claudius Glaber – Gemini

The biggest strength of a Gemini person is that they are adaptable and willing to change their stand. Despite hating Spartacus and wanting him dead, Glaber was willing to let Batiatus buy him and train him as a gladiator. It was a mistake on his part but it showed his softer side.

Unfortunately, Geminis are impulsive too. They don’t strategize and plan properly. Glaber thought he had Spartacus and his rebels cornered at Mount Vesuvius but ended up losing. He also attacked the Thracian recklessly and without proper formation like Crassus. As a result, he was killed.

Batiatus – Cancer

Cancers can be tenacious, imaginative, and highly persuasive. Batiatus showed his persuasive side by convincing the other Roman leaders that Spartacus would be better off as a gladiator in his Ludus. He also made all his gladiators believe that the life of the arena was all they were born for.

However, Cancers can be vindictive, moody, and manipulative too. Batiatus had the wife of Spartacus killed so that the skilled Thracian would remain in his Ludus as a gladiator. He also blackmailed and killed his enemies on a frequent basis.

IIlithya – Leo

Leos are cheerful and so was Glaber’s wife IIlithya. She always seemed excited about everything. She was also very eager to explore everything that life had to offer. She was full of passion too and believed in all the joys of love and intimacy.

However, like other Leos, she didn’t take too kindly to being bossed around or mocked. She began hating her husband Glaber because he was too bossy and even plotted with her father to marry another senator. She also sought revenge against Lucretia and Batiatus by locking the door of Ludus when the slaves attacked because they had treated her like they owned her.

Naevia – Virgo

Those under the Virgo constellation tend to be loyal and hardworking. As a slave, Naevia did her job so well that Lucretia brought her close as her personal slave. She was also loyal to Crixus and refused to even entertain the thought of another man.

During the rebellion, she remained loyal to Crixus and chose his side when he differed with Spartacus. Luckily, she survived during the battle that ended the life of Crixus. As a Virgo, Naevia also had a tendency of criticizing others too much and being too suspicious. She even ended up killing a friend to Gannicus.

Oenomeus – Libra

Libras are diplomatic and disciplined. None one else was eve as disciplined as Oenomeus. It is due to this very discipline that he was given the task of training other gladiators by Batiatus. He also chose his words very carefully and made an effort to check on everyone.

But Libras carry grudges too and Oenomeus developed a deep hatred for Gannicus after he learned that he had slept with his wife. When the two met in the arena, he attempted to kill Gannicus before the games were interrupted by Spartacus and his army of slaves.

Lucretia – Scorpio

When it comes to love, Scorpios are dedicated companions. Lucretia was no different. She was basically a partner-in-crime to her husband Batiatus and supported him in whatever he did. The two always seemed to be on the same page, except when it came to Crixus.

Speaking of Crixus, Lucretia demonstrated a Scorpio weakness when dealing with the man. Scorpios are jealous people and Lucretia, despite not really being in love with Crixus, was enraged to find out that he loved Naevia. Scorpios show violent tendencies sometimes and this was seen by how Lucretia beat up Naevia.

Ashur – Sagittarius

Ashur was probably one of the most hated TV characters of the last decade. He had common Sagittarius weaknesses which include saying hurtful things to others and making false promises. He also enjoyed scheming in order to see himself rise to the top.

When Batiatus died, Ashur tried to align himself with Glaber but the Roman military leader couldn’t trust him because he saw the kind of person. Eventually, Asher’s schemes fell flat and he was killed by Naevia during a random deathmatch.

Spartacus – Capricorn

Capricorns are mature and assertive. They are also ambitious and due to a combination of these traits, they end up making good leaders/managers. Spartacus showed his assertiveness in the very first episode when he stood up against Glaber.

While at the House of Batiatus, he managed to convince the slaves and gladiators to revolt against the Dominus. This turned into a nationwide slave revolt known as the Third Seville War. Spartacus proved to be a great military leader too as he defeated several Roman legions before being taken down by Crassus.

Gannicus – Aquarius

Strengths of the Aquarius person include being independent, being a free thinker, and engaging in humanitarian causes. Gannicus was independent, given that he had won his freedom in the arena. However, he still chose to join the rebellion because he believed in the welfare of slaves.

The Aquarius person also likes entertainment. Gannicus loved drinking and making love. He often frequented a house where prostitutes offered their services. One of his best quotes was: “I am for wine and the embrace of questionable women.”

Julius Ceasar – Pisces

People with pieces as their zodiac tend to be artistic and creative. They also have a great sense of intuition. Ceasar was creative enough to go undercover and pretend to be one of the slaves in order to learn their ways. His good work enabled his boss Crassus to take over the city that Spartacus had conquered.

His intuition is also what led him to discover that Tiberius had sexually assaulted Kore, the slave that Crassus was in love with. It also due to this intuition that he avoided a setup by Spartacus where the rebel leader pretended to be Pompei. Tiberius was captured as a result.
