Sci-Fi has hit the ground running in 2022, and with the news that movies such as Dune 2 are expected to start filming earlier than anticipated, it is hard not to watch other sci-fi movies. From Ex-Machina to Tron, there are so many subgenres within the sci-fi movie category, that sometimes picking one can be difficult.
Many sci-fi movies take place without the constraints of time and space, but since viewers are given a zodiac sign upon birth, it is hard not to assign a sci-fi movie to each sign.
Aries – Ex Machina
Bold and ambitious people need a movie that will take risks and break down stereotypes. Ex-Machina, an A24 movie, centers around Caleb Smith, a programmer who won a contest to spend a week with Nathan Bateman, his firm’s CEO.
After being introduced to the AI system Ava, both Caleb and Nathan know they are in danger as Ava becomes a more self-aware and deceptive creature. This movie takes bold choices to combine horror and sci-fi elements, making this the movie for the Aries.
Taurus – Dune
Dune is a 3-hour beautifully crafted tale based on the novel by Frank Herbert. The story centers around Paul Atreides, a gifted man born into something greater than what he understands. This movie combines both actions with gorgeous cinematography which is perfect for the laid-back Tauruses.
Tauruses are an Earth sign and love the relaxing and joyous parts of life. While Dune does not rush through its storyline, it does have enough fight sequences to satisfy even the most laid-back Tauruses.
Gemini – Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1 and 2
Spontaneous, playful, and curious are some of the traits that describe both Geminis and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. The Guardians movies are some of the funniest MCU movies produced, not to mention, the characters boast playful and chaotic personalities making them ideal characters to watch for Gemini eyes.
Gemini’s often feel rushed to get a whole host of tasks done, and while the Guardians are responsible for saving the galaxy from unknown threats daily, they still maintain a go-with-the-flow personality much like Geminis.
Cancer – Tron
Sam is the son of famous video-game developer Kevin Flynn and has been contemplating his father’s disappearance for some time. One day, Sam is pulled to go into Flynn’s Arcade, and he is transported into the same cyberworld in which his father had been living in for 20 years.
This movie is the perfect balance between emotional storytelling, and an action-based plot, perfect for Cancer’s who has both a strong emotional and physical side. This movie also plays into the theme of trust, something that Cancer’s values greatly.
Leo – Star Trek Into Darkness
One word to describe the crew of the Starship Enterprise is loyal. They are always loyal to their ship, to their fellow crewmates, and to protecting Earth. While Leo’s are quite loyal, they are also passionate and quite dramatic which is why one of JJ Abrams’s movies, Star Trek Into Darkness, would be the best sci-fi movie for them to watch.
No matter what issue they are posed with, the crew of the Starship Enterprise tackles it with their all, and in this particular movie, their loyalty to the Starfleet is tested when they are asked to kill a sociopath without a trial. This movie is the perfect combination of drama and sci-fi, which bodes well for Leos.
Virgo – Free Guy
Virgos are logical, practical, and systematic in the way they approach life. These are the traits of the main character Guy in the movie Free Guy. Free Guy follows the life of a video game character who slowly becomes self-aware, while the video game programmers are trying every which way to shut the game down.
The movie not only has some great cameo appearances, but is unique in that it follows two storylines; one which takes place in reality, and the other which takes place within a game. Because the movie is methodically crafted, and its timeline of events is clear to everyone watching, this movie would be perfect for the practical Virgos.
Libra – Avengers Age of Ultron
Created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, Ultron was designed to bring peace to the human race but instead turns into an AI system with the intent to destroy all life on Earth. Like Libra’s, Tony and Bruce’s main goal was to establish equilibrium on Earth; to have all people co-exist without violence.
Libras would enjoy this movie because it follows both themes of balance and love, which are two of Libra’s main motivations.
Scorpio – The Adam Project
Scorpios are often misunderstood and will use emotion to drive their actions. These character traits describe Adam Reed, the main character in the movie The Adam Project. After the crash landing in the past, Adam is required to team up with his 12-year-old self to save the future.
Adam is a complex and misunderstood character both in his adult and child form, making this a relatable movie for Scorpios. What is truly remarkable about this story is that the elder Adam’s drive is his love for his wife and his mission to find her and keep her safe, perfect for the Scorpio’s emotional heart.
Sagittarius – Star Wars
Chasing both intellectual and adventurous pursuits is the modus operandi for Sagittarius’s. The Star Wars franchise is the perfect combination of both action and adventure, while it also contains some scenes that will choke Sagittarius up.
These movies manage to intertwine technological advancements into this action-packed series, which just adds to the overall picture George Lucas was painting. All movies within the Star Wars franchise resonate with the personality of the Sagittarius, making this series, the best watch for this fire sign.
Capricorn – Eternals
As a group, the Eternals are patient and dedicated to their work on Earth and their drive to serve a higher power, Arishem. Just like Capricorns, the Eternals are patient and careful in the choices that they have made throughout time.
During the Eternals movie, the Eternals each have their own story to tell, coming together at the end for one final battle. This is one of Marvel’s more lengthy movies, but by the end, fans have a better appreciation for all of the Eternals, making this movie the best choice for Capricorns.
Aquarius – Men In Black International
Men In Black International centers its attention around the decorated Agent H and determined rookie M in their quest to take down the incognito alien race that has invaded Earth. The pairing between Agent H and M is unlikely, but one that works nonetheless.
Needless to say, it was a very innovative and creative move to team up with M, both traits which Aquarius value highly. At the end of the day, Aquarius’s wishes to make the world a better place, which is the goal of this movie.
Pisces – Inception
Pisces’s are known to be empathic and intuitive, something which Dom Cobb, the thief in this movie, fails to have. What he does have, however, making this movie perfect for Pisces, is the ability to enter people’s dreams, in a sense, getting inside of their heads.
Dom’s world, however, is torn down as everyone he knows is no longer with him, making him an anti-hero to be sympathized with. Despite his past, Dom still has a good heart, making him the perfect main character for Pisces to balance between empathizing with him and hating him.
