Netflix’s Ozark has a truly fantastic range of characters, all of which are very different in their personalities which is why the series was so gripping. Fans have become very invested in the series and the main reason for that is that it feels like there are normal people all existing within this dangerous world.
Because of that, it is easy for people to relate to the characters involved and one of the reasons many of the characters are so likeable is how down to earth they are. But which Ozark character are viewers most alike?
Rat – Marty Byrde
Marty Byrde is the lead character in Ozark and while he is technically an anti-hero due to what he does for a living, he is an easy character to get behind. He’s an incredibly intelligent character which is why he is able to be a strong money launderer and it is also what makes him a perfect rat zodiac.
People in this zodiac tend to be very smart and that sums up Marty perfectly. They also tend to be ambitious and charming and when Marty wants to be, he can certainly charm others and there’s no denying his ambition. It’s that trait which lands the family in this problem and it is also what helps keep them alive.
Ox – Ruth Langmore
Ruth Langmore is brought under Marty’s wing throughout Ozark as she basically serves as his protege. Ruth works incredibly hard at everything she does and even though she’s not the most intelligent character on the show, she more than makes up for that with her heart and loyalty.
This is why she would be an Ox, as people in this zodiac tend to be very dependable and that is something that Ruth certainly is. She will do whatever is asked, no matter what and she is determined (another Ox trait) to be a success.
Tiger – Darlene Snell
Darlene Snell is considered to be one of the villains on the show, mainly because she goes up against the Byrde family. She’s one of the only people that can see through them and the fact that they’re incredibly false, but she is also someone who everybody else is petrified of.
The reason for that is how unpredictable she is. She’s kind and caring in one moment and then then the next she can flip and attack. She’s very dangerous and that’s purely down to her protective instincts, which is also another trait of a tiger zodiac.
Rabbit – Jonah Byrde
Jonah is the least dangerous member of the Byrde family, as he doesn’t really want to be involved in anything overly dangerous. Instead, he offers his help through technology, by using his brilliant experience with it to earn money and to fly drones.
He would be a rabbit zodiac because they tend to be innocent people, not looking to hurt others. While Jonah does have one moment with Helen late in the third season, for the most part, he doesn’t ever get violent or physical.
Dragon – Helen Pierce
Helen Pierce is the person who is best at playing the game, working between the cartel and the Byrde family perfectly. She works everyone excellently with her mind games and that is purely down to how smart she is and the experience she has in this world.
Helen would be the dragon zodiac purely because of her leadership qualities. Helen knows what she wants and she makes sure that everyone knows what they’re doing. This skill is what keeps her in a position of power until the end of season three, and what makes Helen such a formidable character.
Snake – Buddy Dyker
Buddy Dyker might not last throughout the entire show, but he is a fantastic character. While he starts out as a grumpy man in the house that the Byrde family buy who is dying of a terminal illness, he is a true darkhorse who stands up for the family and puts himself at major risk throughout.
However, his main personality is quite a calm and relaxed one which is why he would be a snake zodiac, as they tend to be more relaxed and positive, which he is. However, he does use his initiative to really help the family in times of need, which is also what a snake zodiac would do.
Horse – Rachel Garrison
Rachel Garrison is the owner of the Blue Cat Hotel and someone who is caring, kind, and positive when the show begins. She forms a great bond with Marty Byrde, however, he ends up taking advantage of her in order to make the most of his laundering business.
However, her caring and positive nature do make her an ideal horse zodiac, even if that part of her personality gets taken away due to the situation she ends up in with Marty.
Goat – Wyatt Langmore
Because Wyatt is from the Langmore family, he is instantly judged by most people in the Ozarks, with everyone thinking he is just going to be like the rest of his family. However, Wyatt is very different. He’s kind and caring and he’s also incredibly intelligent.
He is all about being morally right and doing things to his own code, and that works well with the goat zodiacs, mainly because they have a strong sense of justice. Even though Wyatt may still get wrapped up in some tough situations, for the most part, he is one of the kinder people in the show.
Monkey – Ben Davies
Ben Davies was a fantastic new addition to the show in the third season and his character really had a unique personality. With mental health problems, it was very interesting to see how someone would react in this dangerous situation.
He was someone who adapted very well to the situation, proving he’s a fast learner and that is something the monkey zodiacs tend to be. They are also very dependent on others having a similar mood to them and being able to care for them, which is exactly what his sister and ruth end up doing for him.
Rooster – Wendy Byrde
Wendy Byrde is an incredibly smart individual and is someone who is a real darkhorse in the show. She might start out innocent, but Wendy quickly learns and develops her skills to be a major threat. She uses her intelligence to become very dangerous and she ends up being even more influential than Marty.
She is confident in her abilities and uses that to threaten others and showcase her dominance. She is always quick to respond to any problems, often making sure that others fear her and that responsiveness is something that rooster zodiacs posses.
Dog – Roy Petty
Roy Petty is one of the FBI agents who is involved in trying to get to the bottom of the money laundering and the cartel situation. He investigates Marty in the first two seasons and he is very careful and meticulous about how he works, and he will stop at nothing to get his man.
He is loyal to the job and his careful approach are what makes him an ideal dog zodiac. While he can be quite possessive and he doesn’t always play by the rules, there is no denying that he is effective at his job.
Pig – Charlotte Byrde
Charlotte Byrde is a fantastic character who starts out fairly young and innocent but quickly goes against her family, to the point of actually suing them. However, that is because she’s very realistic and she’s aware of all the dangers that are coming with the family life thanks to her parents’ choices.
That realistic approach is what makes her the perfect pig zodiac, but also the fact she is considerate and caring as well. She eventually comes back to the family and helps them massively which is because of how devoted she is to impressing and that it another pig trait.
