With their musical and comedic antics gracing movies and television for many generations, The Muppets are among some of the most notable and beloved characters in popular culture. Whether they are reenacting a famous story or trying (and failing) to put on a good and well-run show, the Muppets never fail to entertain and warm the hearts of audiences of all ages.
They all are zany and funny as a group but individually, each Muppet has their own unique and colorful personality that makes them stand out to audiences everywhere. As a result, there is easily at least one Muppet character to fit each sign of the zodiac perfectly.
Aries – Animal
The members of the Electric Mayhem are among some of Jim Henson’s most iconic characters, and it’s fair to say that the most popular member of the group is the feral drummer, Animal. Wild and unpredictable, Animal is not only the band’s most popular member but one of the most beloved Muppets overall.
Be it drums or food, Animal is passionate about what he loves and reacts with emotion rather than his thoughts, which makes him a great fit for Aries. What’s more, people born under the Aries sign are supposedly energetic yet can be aggressive, and there have been many a human and Muppet that have regretted getting on the wrong side of Animal.
Taurus – Miss Piggy
Aside from Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy is the most iconic Muppet character ever. Glamorous and feminine, Miss Piggy is a diva and she knows it. One should never stand in the way of Miss Piggy and her spotlight.
What makes Miss Piggy a perfect Taurus is her sensuality and her strength, both in personality and her physical strength (her karate chops have proven to be very lethal.) Furthermore, Taureans are notable for their stubbornness and can be possessive. Miss Piggy is not only stubborn but when it comes to other women approaching Kermit, things can get a little ugly.
Gemini – Rowlf
Rowlf the Dog is the first-ever Muppet character and has been a popular staple character since, particularly in the Muppets’ earlier days. To the delight of Muppet fans, Rowlf has been making more of a comeback in the Muppets’ more recent adventures.
The philosophical piano-playing dog has a passion for music and poetry and is always on hand to make a witty remark to his peers. What’s more, he is friendly, sociable, and very easygoing, often taking his fellow Muppets’ antics into his stride. All these traits are what make Rowlf a very apt Muppet for the Gemini sign.
Cancer – Fozzie Bear
Fozzie Bear is the Muppets’ resident comedian who thrives on telling jokes and making others laugh. His desperate desires to make people happy have not only made him a very sweet and sensitive bear but a very easy target for hecklers Statler and Waldorf.
People born under the Cancer sign are meant to be kind and sensitive in personality, and Fozzie’s gentle and sensitive nature is very befitting for this starsign. Additionally, Fozzie is a great and supportive friend to his fellow Muppets, which is another key characteristic of people born under the Cancer sign.
Leo – Pepe The King Prawn
Despite being one of the newer Muppets, Pepe the King Prawn quickly grew to become one of the most popular and notable Muppets to date. In fact, he has had a number of starring roles since his debut in the 1990s and is considered one of the best things about the Disney+ series Muppets Now.
Although small in size, Pepe has a bold, and outgoing personality and is extremely self-assured in himself, particularly when it comes to showmanship and wooing the ladies. Yet although fairly selfish, he is shown to have a caring side when it comes to his friends. It is this larger-than-life personality that makes Pepe a great representative of the Leo sign.
Virgo – Dr. Bunsen Honeydew And Beaker
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew is the Muppets’ resident scientist and the absent-minded genius in charge of Muppet Labs. Not far from his side is his frazzled and long-suffering assistant Beaker, who is often the unintended subject of torture for Dr. Honeydew’s wacky inventions that are almost always prone to going wrong somehow.
The two characters are great to separate and as a duo, and as a duo, they are very apt for representing the Virgo sign. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew represents Virgo’s intellect and analytical traits whilst Beaker is more befitting of the gentle and helpful nature of Virgos.
Libra – Kermit The Frog
When people hear the word “Muppet”, it is Kermit the Frog that immediately comes to mind. Kermit is a spiritual representation of Jim Henson himself and has been a beloved staple icon in popular culture for decades.
As easily the most level-headed Muppet, Kermit is one that all of the other Muppets turn to for help and is very well-liked among them, both qualities befitting of people born under the Libra sign. What’s more, Libras are meant to be artistic, and Kermit enjoys nothing more than performing and putting on a good show.
Scorpio – Uncle Deadly
First appearing in The Muppet Show as a phantom in the theatre, Uncle Deadly has made a comeback in recent years and has become a more popular addition to the cast. These days, Deadly is most known for being Miss Piggy’s confidante, interest in fashion, and making dry remarks here and there.
As Miss Piggy’s seamstress and ultimately personal assistant, Uncle Deadly is very perceptive and resourceful, qualities that are linked to Scorpio. What’s more, Scorpios are said to be passionate, and although one of the more reserved Muppets, Deadly frequently shows great passion in his work, be it fashion, theatre or haunting places.
Sagittarius – Rizzo The Rat
Rizzo is a wisecracking rat whose greatest love in life is food. He is most fondly remembered for being part of a hilarious double act with Gonzo the Great in The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island, where he is behind some of the funniest lines in both movies.
Sagittarians are most recognized for their extroverted personalities and sense of humor, both characteristics often demonstrated by Rizzo. What’s more, people born under Sagittarius are said to be outspoken, and Rizzo is not afraid to voice his opinion or feelings (often in the form of a sarcastic comment), no matter what the situation.
Capricorn – Sam Eagle
Sam Eagle is the only other straight-laced Muppet other than Kermit, although he is perhaps a little too straight-laced. Proud and patriotic, Sam is often exasperated by the “lowbrow” acts and antics of his fellow Muppets and has tried (and failed) countless times to make The Muppet Show a more cultured and classy form of entertainment.
It is because of Sam’s serious and no-nonsense nature that he is the Muppet most befitting of a Capricorn. Capricorns are known to be disciplined, conservative, and prudent in personality, and Sam fits these characteristics perfectly.
Aquarius – Gonzo The Great
There is perhaps no Muppet wackier than Gonzo the Great. Classified as a “whatever” by himself and his fellow Muppets, Gonzo is a passionate daredevil who has no boundaries or fear. His fearlessness is partly what makes him one of the best characters in Muppets Haunted Mansion.
An eccentric one-of-a-kind individual who takes great pride in his weirdness, Gonzo is a self-proclaimed artist who doesn’t let anything stand in the way of his “art”. It’s because of these qualities that Gonzo is not only the perfect Muppet to represent Aquarius but maybe one of the most perfectly fitting characters to fit the water-bearer sign.
Pisces – Janice
Another notable member of The Electric Mayhem is the lean lead guitarist Janice, and this is not just because she’s one of the few notable main female characters. With her recognizable thick lashes and valley girl accent, Janice is a kind, cool, and very likable character.
The Electric Mayhem as a whole is considerably dreamy and artistic, both traits of a Pisces, but no member perhaps demonstrates this more than Janice. What’s more, people born under Pisces are meant to be sympathetic and compassionate, and as one of the Muppets’ resident hippies, Janice frequently shows this towards others, particularly her fellow bandmates.
