Which Dojo Every Cobra Kai Season 6 Character Aligns With Explained

The characters of Cobra Kai have switched dojos (or started new ones) several times throughout the series, which makes their allegiances going into season 6 all the more confusing. The show started with Johnny Lawrence reestablishing Cobra Kai and Daniel LaRusso getting Miyagi-Do up and running again, but things have changed since then. There were hostile takeovers, student betrayals, mergers, and epic battles—so the next and final season of Cobra Kai has the status of these dojos left up in the air.

By Cobra Kai season 5, Johnny had been forced out of his childhood dojo, which meant he needed to start a new one. This left his students to choose where they wanted to go next. Some stayed to work with John Kreese and Terry Silver, while others joined the newly established Eagle Fang Karate. Some students even turned to other dojos in the valley or Miyagi-Do. Going into Cobra Kai season 6, Terry Silver has been removed from Cobra Kai, and his students have been scattered into the wind. All in all, this makes for a confusing mess going into the series ending.

18 Anthony LaRusso – Miyagi-Do

Anthony LaRusso in Cobra Kai

Daniel LaRusso’s son started in Cobra Kai, relatively uninterested in karate. However, this all changed once the boy he had been bullying, Kenny Payne, turned to Cobra Kai to turn him into one of the most dangerous fighters of the series. Filled with remorse, Anothony did his best to make amends but was ultimately pushed to join the fight between the rivaling dojos. He chose to join his father’s dojo, Miyagi-Do and fought alongside the Eagle Fangs to take down Terry Silver’s Cobra Kai in season 5.

17 Chozen Toguchi – Miyagi-Do

Cobra Kai Season 5 Chozen Mike Barnes

Though Chozen Toguchi was a villain in The Karate Kid Part II, he surprised audiences by becoming one of the best heroes of Cobra Kai. From the moment he came to the United States to assist Daniel, he was loyal (potentially to a fault) to Miyagi-Do, which has not changed since the end of season 5. In fact, he nearly fought Terry Silver to the death. Going into Cobra Kai season 5, it’s unclear whether he will stick around or head back to Japan, but no matter his choice, he will be a Miyagi-Do through and through.

16 Daniel LaRusso – Miyagi-Do

How Many Fights Daniel LaRusso Won Cobra Kai Karate Kid

Back in the day (in The Karate Kid Part III), Daniel had a brief moment in which he joined Cobra Kai and had his heart corrupted by Terry Silver. However, he never strayed from the way of Miyagi-Do again. Ultimately, this helped him understand the stakes when this cruel sensei got back into the game and made him all the more passionate about taking Silver down. Thankfully, he got the chance in his epic battle in Cobra Kai season 5, and things are looking pretty good for Daniel-san going into season 6.

15 Demetri Alexopoulos – Miyagi-Do

Demetri looking serious in Cobra Kai

Most of the characters of Cobra Kai caught on to karate remarkably fast, but this wasn’t the case for Demetri. Initially, his heart wasn’t in it, but he went along for the ride since his best friend Eli was all in. However, once Eli became “Hawk” and things at Cobra Kai grew darker, he was less interested in participating. Demetri has become the moral center of Cobra Kai, which John Kreese couldn’t stand for—so he kicked the boy out. Demetri then joined Miyagi-Do, where he has remained ever since.

14 Devon Lee – Unaffiliated

Cobra Kai Devon Lee

Devon started as Johnny Lawrence’s top female contestant at Eagle Fang, but after the All-Valley loss shut the dojo down, she joined Topanga Karate. She was then recruited by Terry Silver at Cobra Kai, where she was eventually corrupted just as so many other students were. However, during Cobra Kai‘s season 5 battle at Terry Silver’s dojo, she switched sides to help Tory and Sam fight against Sensei Kim Da-Eun. Going into Cobra Kai season 6, it’s unclear which (if any) dojo she will choose to join.

13 Eli Moskowitz – Miyagi-Do

Jacob Bertrand as Hawk/Eli in Cobra Kai

Eli Moskowitz became the perfect example of what Cobra Kai could do to its students. He managed to earn confidence and strength, but his loyalty to his dojo became excessive and dangerous. This meant that when John Kreese came in and told the students that Johnny Lawrence had gone soft, Eli believed him and stuck with Cobra Kai even when his old sensei started Eagle Fang. By Cobra Kai season 5, he had realized the error of his ways and mended his relationship with Demetri. Surprisingly, Eli joined Miyagi-Do rather than Eagle Fang so he could focus on some gentler methods.

12 Kenny Payne – Unaffiliated

Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny in Cobra Kai season 4

Kenny Payne started as a sympathetic character in Cobra Kai season 4, but he has since become pretty difficult to like. During Robby Keene’s stint at the Cobra Kai dojo, he took Kenny under his wing to help him learn to stand up to his bullies, but things quickly got out of hand. Kenny fully embraced the way of the first, but after he learned that Terry Silver had cheated in the All-Valley Tournament, he quit and walked out. As of the finale of Cobra Kai season 5, it’s unclear which dojo he will turn to next.

11 Kim Da-Eun – Cobra Kai

Kim-Da-Eun on season 5 of Cobra Kai.

Terry Silver brought on Kim Da-Eun to teach at Cobra Kai, and she proved to be even more brutal than him. She took a particular interest in students like Devon and Tory, which meant that when they stepped out of line, the punishments were all the more disturbing. During the big showdown at Cobra Kai dojo in season 5’s final episode, Kim was seen in a battle with her two star students, but the outcome was never seen. When Silver was arrested, his top sensei had disappeared, so it’s unclear if she will return for Cobra Kai season 6—but if she does, perhaps it will be as the dojo’s new head sensei.

10 John Kreese – Cobra Kai

John Kreese escapes from prison at the end of Cobra Kai season 5.

As the original owner of Cobra Kai, it’s safe to say that this is precisely where John Kreese’s loyalties will always lie. Still, since he escaped from prison at the end of Cobra Kai season 5, it will be difficult for him to become involved with the dojo again without being found and taken back into custody. It’s unclear going into season 6 what his intentions will be. The previous season led audiences to believe Kreese could be redeemed in Cobra Kai, but his prison break implies that that won’t happen. One way or another, he’s likely to play a big part in the upcoming final season.

9 Kyler Park – Unaffiliated

Kyler looking menacingly at Hawk at the dojo in a scene from Cobra Kai.

Kyler is one of the few Cobra Kai characters who has been unlikeable from beginning to end. He served as Miguel’s main bully in season 1, and though he was put in his place, he has only continued to be a nuisance. Of course, this only got worse once he started at Cobra Kai dojo and learned to fight. Still, after Terry Silver was revealed to be a cheat, Kyler was one of the angry students who took off his Cobra Kai shirt and threw it at the sensei. Therefore, going into Cobra Kai season 6, it’s unclear which dojo he will be a part of.

8 Johnny Lawrence – Eagle Fang

Johnny Lawrence tying his headband in Cobra Kai

As of the end of Cobra Kai season 5, Johnny Lawrence is still the head sensei and owner of Eagle Fang Karate. Still, the name of the Netflix series and the fact that Johnny was the one who brought Cobra Kai back in the first place could indicate that he won’t stay that way. Now that Terry Silver has been put away, the bad boy of The Karate Kid might be interested in taking his childhood dojo back. However, this would make the dojo allegiances of the Eagle Fang students even more complicated and could be difficult since Silver is still technically the owner.

7 Miguel Diaz – Eagle Fang

Miguel in Cobra Kai season 2 and Cobra Kai season 5

As Johnny Lawrence’s first student at Cobra Kai (and his soon-to-be stepson), it’s safe to say that Miguel will end up wherever his sensei does. As of the end of Cobra Kai season 5, this generation’s “karate kid” is still a member of Eagle Fang Karate, but that could all change if Johnny decides to take back Cobra Kai now that Terry Silver is off to prison. Still, with everything Miguel has gone through with karate, it’s always possible that he will decide to step away and focus on his newly rekindled relationship with Sam.

6 Mitch – Unaffiliated

Cobra Kai Mitch

Mitch wasn’t much of a focus throughout Cobra Kai (he doesn’t even technically have a last name), but he played an essential part in season 5. The boy started out in Cobra Kai dojo under Johnny Lawrence, but after Kreese took over, he joined his friends at Eagle Fang. However, when the combined Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang planned to attack their rival dojo, Mitch betrayed them to join Cobra Kai instead. Of course, this was short-lived, and Mitch was among the students who quit after the truth about Terry Silver was revealed.

5 Raymond “Stingray” Porter – Unaffiliated

Raymond has been a proud member of Cobra Kai since he joined while Johnny Lawrence was still sensei, but things quickly became complicated for him. He had been eager to continue learning under John Kreese and Terry Silver, but when he was brutally assaulted by the latter and forced to take part in Kreese’s framing, he hid out at home instead. Still, by the end of Cobra Kai season 5, he had assisted Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do in the attack on the Cobra Kai dojo and admitted to the truth to the police. This makes his loyalties going into season 6 unclear.

4 Robby Keene – Miyagi-Do

Cobra Kai Robby season 2 finale

Robby is another Cobra Kai character who has dojo-jumped throughout the series. He started out in Miyagi-Do but turned to Kreese’s Cobra Kai to get back at his father, Johnny, and Daniel LaRusso. However, his well-developed moral compass showed him that things under Silver’s control weren’t quite right, and he walked away. He floated around unaffiliated for a while, but it looks like Cobra Kai season 6 will see Robby compete in the Sekai Taikai as a Miyagi-Do.

3 Samantha LaRusso – Miyagi-Do

Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso in Cobra Kai Season 4

Samantha’s relationship with karate has been tumultuous throughout Cobra Kai. She is one of the few characters in the series that has been studying the art since she was a child, making her one of the series’ strongest fighters. Still, with all the drama that the rivalries between the Valley’s dojos have caused, she has backed out of Miyagi-Do a few times. Regardless, she has never even been tempted to join another dojo, which makes it safe to assume that she will continue with her father’s dojo going into Cobra Kai season 6.

2 Terry Silver – Cobra Kai

Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver in Cobra Kai season 5 wearing a karate robe and standing in front of a group of his karate students in his elaborate dojo

Terry Silver was reluctant to return to Cobra Kai when John Kreese first approached him, but it quickly became apparent that he had a dark affinity with the way of the fist. He transformed the dojo into his own little kingdom, and his child fighters were loyal and powerful. However, by the end of Cobra Kai season 5, nearly all his students had turned on him, and due to his crimes, he should be going to prison for a long time. Of course, this doesn’t change the fact that he is the owner of the dojo, so Silver could be a problem if he returns in Cobra Kai season 6.

1 Tory Nichols – Unaffiliated

Peyton List as Tory Nichols wearing karate gear in Cobra Kai

Another redeemed Cobra Kai character, Tory Nichols, has become highly sympathetic to audiences by the end of season 5. Tough as nails, she has never had a problem fighting (even a little dirty), but the realization that Terry Silver had cheated to give her the All-Valley Tournament win sat heavily on her heart. Ultimately, she played a significant role in taking down Cobra Kai and Silver at the end of Cobra Kai season 5, and it looks like she and Robby will get their relationship going again. Still, going into season 6, she has no clear dojo affiliation.
