Where To Watch Ti West’s Pearl & X

Where To Watch Ti West’s Pearl & X

Ti West’s X and Pearl have become some of the most successful horror movies of the last years, and here’s where you can watch the first two entries in West’s X film series. Although Ti West is no stranger to the horror genre, with his debut film being The Roost and having directed other horror movies and episodes of TV shows (such as MTV’s Scream), he has become widely known thanks to his 2022 films X and Pearl. Both X and Pearl fall into the slasher genre, but their setting, along with the visual style West went for, turned them into tributes to slasher movies from the 1970s and 1980s, thus making them stand out from other recent horror movies.

X took the audience back to 1979 to follow the cast and crew of a pornographic film as they arrived at a farm to film their movie. The farm was owned by elderly couple Howard and Pearl, but the crew wasn’t entirely honest with them and never told them what they were going to do in their farmhouse, and they could have never imagined what Howard and Pearl were capable of. Pearl is a prequel to X, and it tells the origin story of Pearl, who is revealed to have been an aspiring actress, but this desire led her to commit violent acts at her family’s home in Texas, in 1918. X and Pearl are a perfect double-feature for those into slasher movies, and here’s where to watch them.

Ti West’s Pearl & X Are Streaming On Paramount+

Where To Watch Ti West’s Pearl & X

Both X and Pearl are available to stream on Paramount+ through Showtime, and they can also be found on FuboTV and DirecTV. This makes a double feature of Ti West’s X film series a lot easier, and it’s up to every viewer to decide the order to watch these movies. Chronologically, Pearl would have to be the first one, allowing the audience to meet the title character when she was young and see how and why she ended up becoming a ruthless killer. However, X also works as the first film to watch as it’s a great introduction to Pearl and what she (and Howard) is capable of.

X and Pearl will be followed by a third movie titled MaXXXine, also to be written and directed by Ti West. MaXXXine will be the sequel to X, and will reunite viewers with the title character (once more played by Mia Goth, who also played young Pearl) as she moves to Los Angeles in the early 1980s to pursue her dreams of becoming an actress. MaXXXine doesn’t have a release date yet, but until then, viewers can prepare for it with a rewatch of X and Pearl.
