Where To Watch Disney’s Tower Of Terror Movie Online? (Netflix, Hulu Or Prime)

Is Disney’s Tower Of Terror movie available to stream on Netflix, Hulu and Prime? Disney theme parks are full of attractions based on popular movies, but there are several Disney movies based on rides too. Jungle Cruise, the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise and Eddie Murphy’s The Haunted Mansion were all inspired by Disney attractions but Tower Of Terror – based on the elevator drop ride of the same name that originated at Walt Disney World in Florida in 1994 – was the first Disney film to be based on one of its rides.

The 1997 made-for-TV movie stars Steve Guttenberg as a tabloid journalist called Buzzy Crocker who enlists the help of his niece Anna (Kirsten Dunst) to investigate an incident that took place at the spooky Hollywood Tower Hotel on Halloween night in 1939. This involved five people who mysteriously disappeared from the hotel’s elevator when the building was struck by lightning. While most of Tower Of Terror was shot on a sound stage in Hollywood, several exterior shots were actually filmed at the movie’s namesake ride at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Tower Of Terror is a perfect film for family-friendly frights on Halloween, so where can it be watched online? Unfortunately, the movie isn’t currently streaming anywhere – not on Netflix, Hulu, Prime or even on Disney+. There’s always the chance that Tower Of Terror might be available to stream online in the future, but in the meantime, Disney fans can buy the movie on DVD and Blu-ray from a range of retailers.

Tower Of Terror has been getting a lot more attention of late thanks to recent reports that a new Disney movie based on the popular ride was in the works. The new Tower Of Terror would’ve reunited Disney with Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson who was set to star as well as produce the project through her These Pictures production company. These Pictures co-founder Jonathan Lia was brought aboard to co-produce it while Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley was set to write its script.

Note that the emphasis is on “was.” That’s because Disney has reportedly cut ties with Scarlett Johansson and cancelled their forthcoming Tower Of Terror film after the actress filed a lawsuit against the House of Mouse over its decision to release Black Widow theatrically and online simultaneously. Of course, Disney might still make a new version of Tower Of Terror in the future but it’s safe to say that, sadly, Scarlett Johansson and her production company likely won’t be involved.
