Where To Find The Lich Knight In Magic: Legends Beta

Magic: Legends is currently in Beta mode, and there are many various quests and activities for any new player to sink their teeth into, such as finding the Lich Knight. This Diablo 3 style game will have players using spells and attacks, much like the legendary dungeon crawler, but with a few twists. Since it’s only in the Beta mode, expect a few things to change from now until the main game comes out.

In Magic: The Gathering lore, the Lich Knight, is known as Josu Vess, a part of the Dominaria expansion of the famous card game. Josu was transformed into a Lich Knight by Belzenlok after they drove him to the Cabal. Initially, he was cured of corruption by his sister Liliana, a Planeswalker, but the cure rendered him insane and turned the two siblings against each other. Liliana eventually killed Josu after gaining the Chained Veil but at the cost of Josu revealing that Liliana’s actions wiped out their family.

Where To Find The Lich Knight In Magic: Legends Beta

To reach the Lich King in Magic: Legends, players have to complete activities during the Overworld Escalations. Doing activities such as defending mana towers, skirmishes, and mythic encounters will raise the Planar Instability bar found on the screen’s left side. When it’s filled 100%, a portal will open up where the Overworld Escalation, which for the Lich Knight, will be in the Benalia Overworld area. When the portal opens up, that’s when the Lich Knight’s echo will become available. Teleporting to Caligo Morass in the Benalia Overworld region will get players to the closest location to find the Lich Knight. After teleporting to Caligo Morass, go to the opening going north just a little to the east of the teleport location and head for the open area’s northeast corner.

The main map will not show a staircase, but it will come up on players’ mini-maps. Go up the stairs and head through the portal. On the other side of the portal, a countdown will begin signaling the Lich Knight’s arrival. There is an issue here to have the Lich Knight spawn where the timer needs to go to zero entirely for the Lich Knight to appear. If the Lich Knight doesn’t appear, that’s because another player has defeated it, and the timer has to return to zero for the portal to the Lich Knight’s area to re-open. Killing the Lich Knight can be done as a solo player, but bringing others will make taking him down much easier.

Magic: Legends Beta is available for PC.
