Where Terry Silver’s Students Could Go After Cobra Kai Season 5

Where Terry Silver’s Students Could Go After Cobra Kai Season 5

Warning: Spoilers for Cobra Kai season 5

Terry Silver’s defeat in the Cobra Kai season 5 finale creates confusion regarding the futures of his students. The events of the finale have left several key characters without a clear place in the story. Where they’ll go from here is one of several questions season 6 will need to answer right away.

Ever since season 3, Johnny and Daniel have been working tirelessly to beat Cobra Kai. Things got more complicated in season 4 when Terry Silver was added to the mix, and the fight persisted even after Kreese’s downfall. Silver developed a stranglehold on the Valley that wasn’t removed until the final episode of Cobra Kai season 5. At last, his influence has waned, leaving the dojo’s future uncertain and his students with no faith in their mentor. So outside of Kreese being on the loose, the main characters have no obvious enemies for Cobra Kai season 6.

Silver’s defeat raises questions about what comes next for his students. Tory already left Cobra Kai and could very well join Johnny, Daniel, and Chozen’s dojo, but there’s still the matter of what happens to Kyler, Kenny, Devon, and even Mitch, who switched sides in the finale. Of the four, only Devon is likely to align with the main characters after season 5 since she turned on Cobra Kai during the big fight. Kenny could follow suit eventually, but getting to that point may take some time. As for the others, there’s a chance they could remain with Cobra Kai. After all, the finale didn’t confirm that the dojo will shut down. It could remain open, albeit under new leadership.

Cobra Kai Could Be Led by Kim Da-Eun in Season 6

Where Terry Silver’s Students Could Go After Cobra Kai Season 5

Regardless of what happened to Silver, Kim Da-Eun can still use Cobra Kai to accomplish her goal of spreading her family’s teachings. For that reason, she could take over the dojo in the wake of Silver’s incarceration in the Cobra Kai season 5 finale. She obviously won’t have Devon or Tory on her side after season 5, but could end up retaining the bulk of Silver’s student roster. Kyler has always been a bully in Cobra Kai, so it makes sense that he could be one of Kim’s pupils in season 6. And unless Mitch is immediately forgiven for his betrayal, he too could be a Cobra Kai fighter going forward.

Cobra Kai staying up and running aside, Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen’s dojo is poised to pick up at least a few students now that Silver has fallen. As noted above, both Tory and Devon have fairly good chances of joining their dojo when Cobra Kai returns. And if Robby succeeds in getting through to Kenny, they have the potential to pick up another valuable asset ahead of the Sekai Taikai. All things considered, Cobra Kai will need more weapons to replace what they lost if they have any hope of rivaling the main characters in the upcoming world tournament.
