When Will Saw X Release On Streaming?

The story of John Kramer a.k.a. the Jigsaw killer continues with a tenth installment debuting in theaters, but here is when Saw X will release on streaming. The long-running horror movie franchise found another way to return two years after the last installment. Whereas Spiral marked the first time that Tobin Bell’s John Kramer was not in a Saw movie, Saw X rectifies that decision by making him the lead character. The hope is that Saw 10 will be another successful release for the franchise, which has made over $1 billion at the box office to this point.

Audiences desiring more Jigsaw games and death traps will have the first opportunity to see Saw X in theaters, but it will only be a matter of time before it releases on streaming. This will only come after the movie’s box office fate has been determined, but there is reason for optimism thanks to Saw X‘s cast returning Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith’s Amanda Young alongside a new group of characters facing death. The prequel set between Saw and Saw II could still prove to be a success for the franchise even if its box office does not deliver, as streaming and Digital releases provide other viewing options.

Saw X Will Likely Release On Streaming In March 2024

It is not confirmed when Saw X‘s streaming release date will be, but audiences should be prepared for an extended wait. The Saw franchise comes from Lionsgate, and the studio does not have its own streaming service. All Lionsgate movies release on Starz and then Peacock afterward. While most major studios have developed a tendency to release their movies on streaming anywhere between 45 and 90 after the theatrical debut, Lionsgate is comfortable waiting much longer. The studio routinely waits six months between a movie’s theatrical release and streaming debut.

As long as Lionsgate does not make a major change to its operations, the timing for when to watch Saw X on streaming will be March 2024. This would be six months after its September 29, 2023, theatrical release date. Even though the majority of Saw movies are streaming on Prime Video, a Starz subscription (which is possible through Prime) will be needed to watch Saw X on streaming initially. The March 2024 streaming release would give the movie a full, exclusive theatrical release. Saw X will then move to Peacock at a later date well after the tenth entry in the franchise has wrapped up its theatrical run.

Saw X Will Likely Release On Digital In November 2023

Those who want to watch Saw X at home will have an earlier option to do so thanks to its Digital release. Lionsgate will likely make the movie available to buy or rent on all major PVOD services in November 2023. This would follow the same schedule the studio used for John Wick: Chapter 4, which hit Digital two months after its theatrical launch. The timing of the PVOD release should come after Saw X has done most of its business in theaters and give Lionsgate an opportunity to make more money off those who do not want to wait for a streaming release months later.
