When The Sims 4’s Star Wars Game Pack Is Coming

Electronic Arts’ The Sims 4 has brought players countless themed DLCs in the form of expansion, stuff, and game packs. But the long-running franchise may have just announced their most sci-fi expansion ever, as a Star Wars-themed Sims DLC is about to drop at the beginning of September.

The new Star Wars game pack is said to be inspired by Disneyland ride Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Disney World’s Journey to Batuu. It will allow players to travel with their Sims to a new location – the planet of Batuu – where they can encounter familiar faces from the Star Wars franchise, such as Rey and Kylo Ren.

Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will release on September 8th for The Sims 4, which is available on Mac, PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The new game pack was initially announced at Thursday’s Gamescom Opening Light Live, and will be sold for $19.99 USD or $25.99 CAD, which is the same price as the other game packs. Buying all of The Sims game packs is an expensive feat, but it’s worth it for players wanting to extend and enhance their gameplay experience, and Star Wars: Journey to Batuu is no exception.

What Players Can Expect In The Sims 4’s Star Wars DLC

Batuu is classified as a destination world, so players won’t be able to make their Sims live there full-time, as it’s only designed for visiting. Players will have the chance to explore the Black Spire Outpost, where they will be able to do everything from shopping to evading Stormtroopers. There will be options to craft custom lightsabers, build droids, and engage in duels. The Sims 4 players will also have the opportunity to bring back Star Wars décor, items, and recipes from their adventures – even droids will be available to take back to the Sims’ home for companionship.

Perhaps most impressive, the game pack features an overarching story, which isn’t commonplace in The Sims DLCs. Players will get to choose between siding with the Resistance, the First Order, or the rebels, as they all attempt to take control of Batuu for themselves. This will have a bearing on how other characters interact and behave towards a player’s Sims. “If you spend a lot of time with the rebels and you’re working on missions for them and socializing with them, then if you try and go hang out with the First Order, they’re not going to respond to you,” Lyndsay Pearson, the executive producer and general manager of The Sims, explained to The Washington Post.

With the new Star Wars-themed game pack dropping very soon, fans of The Sims 4 can expect to be glued to their console as they discover all this exciting DLC has to offer.
