When Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Releases On Steam

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is finally releasing on Steam after a year-long exclusivity deal with Epic Games. Since its initial launch for PlayStation consoles and the Epic Games Store on September 21 2021, the title will now be more accessible to PC users. The official release date for Kena: Bridge of Spirits on Steam is September 27, 2022. This release will come with new gameplay mechanics, cosmetics, and the ability to play the title in new game plus, carrying over any upgrades that were unlocked in the course of a playthrough.

The title was not only one of the best-looking indie releases to come out last year, but one of the most successful as well. Kena was one of 2021’s best indie games, and won numerous accolades from various awards shows. Ember Lab, the team responsible for the game was no stranger to high-quality animation and character design. The team created an impressive fan film years ago adapting The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask called “Terrible Fate” that blew viewers away. It’s no surprise that when Kena was first shown that it was able to capture a Pixar-like visual style so well.

The story of Kena: Bridge of Spirits is quite simple when broken down. It stars a young spirit guide named Kena who is trying to reach a mountain shrine. On her journey, Kena finds a deserted village and looks for answers while trying to maintain peace in the area by helping the nearby spirits. As a spirit guide, Kena has the ability to utilize cute little spirits called the Rots during Bridge of Spirits‘ beautiful adventure. With their help and Kena’s own abilities at the player’s disposal, it’s up to them to save the land from the corruption that is plaguing it.
