When Kelsey Grammer’s Beast Will Return In The MCU

When Kelsey Grammer’s Beast Will Return In The MCU

Kelsey Grammer’s surprise introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe has many wondering when he will return to the franchise again. The MCU timeline has seen some major changes throughout Phase 5, and the introduction of Grammer’s Beast has the potential to alter the MCU’s future substantially. Particularly if Beast’s arrival heralds the introduction of the MCU’s X-Men. Though there is little indication of when or how the X-Men will be introduced, there are several installments in which Kelsey Grammer’s Beast could return.

Kelsey Grammer was celebrated for his performance as the iconic X-Man, Beast, in X-Men: The Last Stand – the third movie in Fox’s X-Men universe. He made a surprising reappearance in the post-credits scene for The Marvels, examining Monica Rambeau after she arrives in his universe. As Patrick Stewart also reprised his role as Professor Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU has seemingly introduced classic members of Fox’s X-Men franchise. As such, it is anticipated that Kelsey Grammer’s Beast will return in some way to the MCU soon.

With Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool 3 announced, MCU fans may be wondering if an X-Men movie will be following after.

Kelsey Grammer’s Beast Could Appear In Deadpool 3

With Deadpool 3 becoming a part of the MCU, there will be some potential drastic changes in the franchise. Most notably, the Deadpool movies originated in Fox’s X-Men franchise, and therefore, Deadpool 3 will presumably explore a connection between the MCU and Fox’s X-Men movies. Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine confirms this, meaning that Grammer’s Beast could also appear alongside his X-Men: The Last Stand co-star. Both characters were seen working together following the timeline change in X-Men: Days of Future Past and could still be when Wolverine encounters Wade Wilson.

Furthermore, Deadpool has already introduced several other members of the X-Men, who could potentially become MCU canon after Deadpool 3. Deadpool 3 is, therefore, the ideal movie to introduce more mutants into the mix, including Grammer’s Beast. Deadpool 3 appears to pay tribute to early 2000s Marvel movies, with several rumored cast and characters from the era. Including Kelsey Grammer’s Beast in this would neatly facilitate this, unifying Marvel’s cinematic past and present as it navigates the MCU’s complicated future.

The MCU’s Beast Could Appear In Avengers 5 Or 6

Though primarily associated with the X-Men, Beast is also a member of the Avengers. Therefore, he could easily appear as a member of the new Avengers team, with Monica Rambeau in tow. The presumed prevalence of multiversal travel in Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars would facilitate this. Though plans may have changed following Jonathan Majors’ exit from the MCU, The Kang Dynasty is expected to depict the supervillain Kang uniting several variants of himself from multiple universes. One of these could very well be Fox’s X-Men universe or feature a variant of Beast voiced by Grammer.

Avengers: Secret Wars is likely to also feature a multiverse-based plot, based on the Marvel Comics stories from which it takes its name. The most prominent example features an incursion – two universes in the multiverse colliding. This could offer Marvel the opportunity to introduce the X-Men into its primary universe (Earth-616) or at least depict them in a separate universe more extensively. It’s become apparent that the X-Men already exist somewhere in the MCU’s multiverse, and the two Avengers movies in Phase 6 could facilitate this. Certainly, it seems that Kelsey Grammer’s Beast could be incorporated in some way.

Beast Could Return In The MCU’s Wonder Man Show

Wonder Man and Beast in the Marvel comics

Beast could also appear in the MCU miniseries Wonder Man. The Marvel Comics Beast and Wonder Man are close friends during their time in the Avengers. The pair’s friendship becomes a central narrative in Avengers comics and has a notable impact on both characters’ evolution. Beast would, therefore, be the perfect addition to the Wonder Man miniseries – but it is unlikely if the characters remain in separate universes. Wonder Man will presumably be set in Earth-616, so the MCU will need to incorporate the multiverse to facilitate Grammer’s Beast.

Precisely how the MCU will introduce mutants into a pre-existing universe has long been theorized, with one possibility being a universe-altering event such as Marvel Comics’ House of M. Deadpool 3, The Kang Dynasty, and Secret Wars will each explore multiple Marvel universes coming together. These potentially seismic events in the MCU’s future could trigger some drastic changes to the multiverse and establish a version of Kelsey Grammer’s Beast within the primary timeline. However, as Wonder Man is under the MCU’s Marvel Spotlight banner, it is unlikely the series will be connected to such a central and important MCU narrative.
