The new Paramount and Showtime series A Gentleman in Moscow is based on the celebrated 2016 novel of the same name by American novelist Amor Towles. The 2024 series, which was originally set to star Kenneth Branagh as the protagonist Count Rostov, stars Ewan McGregor in the lead role. A Gentleman in Moscow also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Anna Urbanova, Leah Harvey as Marina Samarova, Johnny Harris as Osip Glebnikov, and Paul Ready as Prince Nikolai Petrov.
Early reviews of A Gentleman in Moscow have earned the limited series a 91% Rotten Tomatoes score. The series will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+, which has become the new streaming home for all Showtime programming. A Gentleman in Moscow is directed by Sam Miller (Black Mirror, I May Destroy You Now, Luther) and Sarah O’Gorman (The Witcher, Cursed, The Last Kingdom). Ben Vanstone (The Last Kingdom, The English Game) is the head writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
