What Would Happen If Naru Met Other Predator Heroes?

The heroine of Prey, Naru, is a formidable warrior, and there could be some epic battles indeed if she met the other heroes of the Predator franchise. Prey sees a Yautja hunter arrive on Earth in the 18th century, with Comanche warrior Naru (Amber Midthunder) stepping up to battle the creature to save her people. Prey proved to be one of the best-received Predator movies ever made, and with the movie’s end-credits teasing Prey 2, it seems likely that Naru will step into another Yautja showdown in the near future.

Naru is hardly the only human to defeat a Predator on-screen, however. With the Predator franchise stretching back to the 1987 original led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, numerous human protagonists have fought Predators in the past and lived to tell the tale. With that being said, Naru is a particularly adept hunter and warrior even among Predator heroes. That makes the idea of Naru meeting, and possibly fighting, other heroes of past Predator movies a fascinating subject to ponder. Here are the most likely outcomes of Naru meeting other Predator heroes.

DutchWhat Would Happen If Naru Met Other Predator Heroes?

Dutch would be one of the Predator heroes to garner the most respect from Naru. As the leader of a Special Forces unit, Dutch is a highly trained warrior like Naru. Dutch also shares Naru’s observant attention to detail, deducing that the Predator sees in infrared and using mud to block his body heat from it. Dutch also develops a similar battle strategy as Naru of fashioning traps and weaponry to defeat the Predator. Despite all of this, Naru one-upped Dutch in Prey with her methodology of blocking the Predator’s infrared vision, so she could probably defeat him in battle too, though it would likely be a close fight.

Mike HarriganPredator 2 - Mike Harrigan victorious

Predator 2‘s protagonist Detective Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover) is one that Naru might have more mixed feelings about. As a police detective, Harrigan shares Naru’s mindset of understanding her opponent in order to best counter their attacks. However, Harrigan’s fiery temper is something that Naru would likely see as his greatest weakness, and something that blinds Harrigan to effective combat strategies sitting right in front of him.

That would also be the weakness that Naru would probably try to exploit against Harrigan in a fight, and would make her the likely winner. Still, with the flintlock pistol Naru receives in Prey eventually being gifted to Harrigan by an elder Yautja in Predator 2, Naru would recognize he is a force to be reckoned with and approach their fight accordingly.

Alex Woods

Unlike most other Predator protagonists, Alien vs Predator‘s Alex Woods (Sanaa Lathan) is not a warrior by nature, but a scientist who allies herself with one Predator to stop the Xenomoprhs from overrunning Earth. Naru would probably respect Alex’s intellect as a scientist, and would commend her for escaping a Xenomorph-infested pyramid alive. Even so, Naru would also recognize that the Predator Alex was teamed up with played a big role in her survival and defeat of the Xenomorph Queen.

Additionally, unlike other historic and modern Predator and Prey heroes, Alex’s victory is much more improvised in terms of her battle plan and the weaponry she deploys (her makeshift spear and shield both being directly supplied to her by a Predator). Alex also spends far more time fleeing both the Xenomorphs and Predators than directly engaging them. In all, that makes Naru a very assured victor in a battle against Alex.

Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem’s HumansAliens vs Predator Requiem movie pic

The only human survivors of Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem are Dallas (Steven Pasquale), Kelly O’Brien (Reiko Alesworth), Dallas’s brother Ricky (Johnny Lewis), and Kelly’s daughter Molly (Ariel Gade), with Kelly being the only warrior as a soldier and military pilot. Naru would probably hold respect for Kelly, but would mostly be indifferent to the others, who simply made it to the chopper in time.

Moreover, like Alex, the human survivors of the movie spend more time running from the Xenomorphs and Predator than actually battling them. That even includes the Predalian hybrid of Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, which Naru would have likely fought head-to-head without a second thought. With Kelly being a military pilot, the other three effectively owe their survival of the movie’s climactic nuclear strike to her. Because of that, Kelly would likely be the only one to stand a chance against Naru in a fight.

Royce & Isabel

The premise of 2010’s Predators brings seven soldiers, criminals, and killers to a Predator game reserve on another planet to be hunted, with only Royce (Adrien Body) and Isabel (Alice Braga) surviving. Naru would probably see Royce and Isabel (even more so than Dutch) as the most worthy human protagonists of the Predator franchise’s seven movies, and with good reason. Not only do Royce and Isabel survive being hunted by the Predators, they also do so on their enemy’s home turf in a galaxy lightyears away from their own.

Naru would accord great respect to Royce and Isabel, and recognize both of them as worthy adversaries. Royce and Isabel’s coordinated strategy against their Yautja enemy in Predators would also make them a deadly duo, and just as formidable a threat as Dutch would be. Though Naru would likely still win a fight with them, Royce and Isabel would probably give Naru her greatest challenge from the human heroes of the Predator franchise.

Quinn & Casey

The Predator‘s Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook) and Casey Brackett (Olivia Munn) bring both military experience and scientific knowledge against the Yautja hunter in the film. As the human survivors of The Predator (alongside Quinn’s son Rory), Quinn and Casey would be accorded respect by Naru for defeating a Predator in battle. With that said, they run into the same problem as Alex and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem‘s human do of favoring a flight or fight response to their Yautja enemies.

Though Quinn and Casey take down the main Yautja hunter of The Predator, there is nothing particularly strategic in how they go about doing so. In all, neither Quinn nor Casey can hold a candle to Naru in a fight, making her the assured victor of a hypothetical showdown between Prey‘s heroine and two other Predator movie heroes.
