What To Expect From Feel Good Season 2

Here’s everything we know so far about Netflix’s plans for Feel Good season 2, and when new episodes might release. Starring Canadian comedian Mae Martin as a fictionalized version of herself, the series initially aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. Feel Good season 1 debuted on Netflix in March 2020.

In Feel Good season 1, Mae is living in England and pursues a relationship with George (Charlotte Ritchie). The two initially seem like a good fit, even if their relationship isn’t made official amongst their collective group of friends. But as Mae’s comedy career develops, she realizes that George may not be ready for a committed relationship. And so, Feel Good season 1 on Netflix builds toward the inevitable heart-to-heart about the couple’s future.

The Feel Good season 1 finale shows Mae’s progression as a stand-up comedian, but also reveals that she’s experienced a drug relapse. Mae then re-ignites a romance with George, but hasn’t been completely honest about everything. Here’s everything we know so far about Feel Good season 2 on Netflix.

Feel Good Season 2 Renewal

What To Expect From Feel Good Season 2

Feel Good season 2 hasn’t yet been ordered by Channel 4, but a second installment does seem likely. Critics have praised the six-episode arc of Feel Good season 1, and Martin’s popularity will undoubtedly increase as Netflix subscribers discover the series. Expect Channel 4 and Netflix to assess streaming numbers before officially green lighting Feel Good season 2 in April or May 2020.

If Feel Good season 2 is ordered in the first half of 2020, production for six new episodes could begin later in the year – though it may be delayed if distancing measures due to the coronavirus pandemic continue in the long-term. Regardless of the main setting, the relatively modest scope of production should stay the same. In a best-case scenario, Feel Good season 2 could release in March 2021, on both Channel 4 and Netflix, to fit with a one-season-per-year streaming model for modern comedy series. If production is put on hold, however, fans may have to wait until late 2021 or early 2022.

Feel Good Season 2 Story Details

Mae Martin in Feel Good Season 1 on Netflix

Feel Good season 1 concludes with George asking Mae if there’s anything she needs to know. In bed, Mae’s heart beats rapidly, which could be the result of two things: her nervousness, her cocaine use, or a combination of both. At this point, Mae has managed to lose her Narcotics Anonymous sponsor Maggie (Sophie Thompson) by sleeping with (and offending) her daughter Lava (Ritu Arya), and she clashed with a male comic who offered an opening act slot on tour while simultaneously making an unwanted sexual advance. Meanwhile, Mae’s mother Linda (Lisa Kudrow) expects her daughter to come back home to Canada.

With regards to Feel Good season 2, Martin told NME that “Nothing’s confirmed but we have loads of stories to tell. I want to see [Mae and George] go to Canada and see them try to transform that relationship into a healthy long term one – and if they can do it.” So, it seems that Feel Good season 2 will focus on Mae’s personal evolution as she returns to her Canadian roots and decides who she truly wants to be, both personally and professionally.
