What Time Shogun Episode 6 Releases On Hulu & FX

WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for Shōgun episode 5.

Shōgun episode 6 “Ladies of the Willow World” is set to release on Hulu and FX on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. The sixth episode of the 10-part miniseries will pick up right where Shōgun episode 5 “Broken to the Fist” left off after Blackthorne saved Toranaga during an earthquake. With only four more episodes left of the acclaimed miniseries following Shōgun episode 5, the celebrated show will air its final episode on April 23, 2024, in what is poised to be an explosive season finale.

Throughout the first half of Shōgun, Lord Yoshii Toranaga has carefully deflected the incoming threats of the Council of Regents and is starting to lean on his only two rusted allies, John Blackthorne and Lady Mariko. After Toranaga returns from Edo with Mariko’s samurai husband at the start of episode 5, who was thought to have been killed in Osaka, Blackthorne and Mariko must continue to conceal their affair. Toranaga sees more clearly through Yabushige’s obvious lies and only keeps him around so he may not be of use to his enemy, Ishido Kazunari.

How Many Episodes Shogun Has Left

Following the release of Shōgun episode 6 “Ladies of the Willow World”, the acclaimed series only has four more episodes left before its season 1 finale. Since there has been no official word on the status of Shōgun season 2, Shōgun season 1 will likely end in a conclusive manner in the event that the show ends up being just a miniseries. As Toranaga gains more power and poses more of a threat to the Council of Regents, an all-out war for control of feudal Japan is surely on the horizon.

After Blackthorne and Lady Mariko save Toranaga from being buried alive by an earthquake, Toranaga will likely offer more authority, power, and trust to his only remaining allies. He will also likely try to keep his ambitious son Yoshii Nagakado in line as well as contain the mischievous efforts of Yabishige as violent retaliation from Ishido Kazunari and the Council of Regents is expected. Mariko and Blackthorne should continue to keep their affair hidden, which could be a challenge with the fearless warrior Buntaro back in the picture in Shōgun.
