What Should DC’s New Supergirl Costume Look Like? Fans Already Have Answers

The DC Universe will feature Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and fans are already chiming on what her costume should look like in James Gunn’s franchise. David Corenswet’s Superman won’t be the only famous Kryptonian to show up in the new DC Universe as the Girl of Steel is flying back to the big screen, too. After a long casting process, House of the Dragon’s Alcock has been tapped as the next cinematic version of Kara.

With the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie confirmed as one of the many DC Universe projects in the works, the feature film will adapt Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s infamous comic of the same name. Ana Nogueira is writing the script, while DC Studios is reportedly looking to start their search for their Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow director. As of right now, Supergirl. Woman of Tomorrow doesn’t have a confirmed release date, but it might be one of the other DC Universe projects to go into production later this year.

One of the things fans are excited to see is Supergirl’s infamous costume, which has been reimagined multiple times in the comics and in media. Not even a month has passed since Alcock was hired as the Girl of Steel, and several fan artists have shared their respective designs for what the suit could look like in Gunn’s DC Universe.

Everything We Know About Milly Alcock’s Supergirl In James Gunn’s DC Universe

While Alcock will headline Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Kara will reportedly show up in Superman: Legacy as her first DC Universe project. Alcock had done her screen test in Atlanta, which is where Superman: Legacy will be filming, and, assumingly, she would have tested with Corenswet, as Kara and Clark are cousins. While Gunn stated that he never said she was in Superman: Legacy, he has yet to flat-out deny she is in the movie.

When Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow was announced in 2023, Gunn described this Kara as “a much harsher and more f—ked up Supergirl than we’ve been used to this far.” While Clark got sent to Earth and was adopted by the Kents, “she was on a piece of Krypton that drifted away from the planet, and lived there for the first 14 years of her life among a horrible situation where she watched everybody around her die.” Hopefully, news on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will emerge sooner rather than later, especially if Alcock is portraying her in Superman: Legacy this year.
