Bravo’s Below Deck follows the activities of a yachting crew during a charter. Since it premiered in 2013, Below Deck has become one of the most popular reality shows on air. The show has spawned many spin-offs, including Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Below Deck Down Under, Below Deck Mediterranean, and Below Deck Adventure.
All the spin-offs, including the original series, have all become successful shows in their own right. In fact, Bravo airs Below Deck episodes several times throughout the week. Still, after recently celebrating its tenth year on air, Bravo has renewed the show for Below Deck season 11.

Below Deck Follows People Who Work On A Yacht
On Below Deck, fans get to see all the efforts that go into having a successful motor yacht charter. The cameras follow the crew as they tend to guests’ needs aboard the yacht. For a charter, there are two categories of crews who run a yacht. There’s the exterior crew, which consists of the deckhands and a bosun or first officer. They are responsible for cleaning the exterior of a boat, driving and maintaining the speedboats, and water toys. The deckhands and bosun also help the captain when docking on marinas.
Then there’s the interior crew, which includes the chef who makes food for the crew and guests. The stewards are responsible for making the bedrooms, serving food and drinks, and organizing the entertainment for the guests. The stewards are led by the chief stew, who answers to the captain. The captain is in charge of the crew members and is often tasked with making the yacht’s final and most important decisions.
It Follows The Drama Of The Crew Members
Although assembling crew members with different experiences and backgrounds is one of the tenets of a successful charter, these dynamics often result in dramatic situations. Having different characters on a yacht working together toward the success of the charter often produces a lot of drama. Below Deck fans have witnessed feuds between crewmates, rude guests, love triangles between crew members, to issues of insubordination towards a superior officer. The show has also produced some controversial situations, including when a crew member had drugs onboard and even sexual harassment.
Many Famous Faces Came From Below Deck
Below Deck has been airing for a decade and, during this time, produced several reality TV stars and social media personalities. Some of the most famous Below Deck alums include Captain Lee Rosbach, who was on the show for ten seasons. Chef Ben Robison starred in Below Deck seasons 1-4 and Below Deck Med season 1 in 2016. Since leaving the show, Chef Ben has become a Certified Health Coach and a famous California chef. There is also Kate Chastain, who was a chief stew during her stint on the show. She has since gone on to star in other successful shows like Galley Talk and Peacock’s The Traitors.
Famous chefs Rachel Hargrove, Marcos Spaziani, and Dave White have also appeared as crew members on Below Deck. Since its premiere Below Deck has consistently given fans all the drama and activities during a charter season. With Below Deck season 11 already confirmed by Bravo, fans can expect more from the series in the future.
