What Brie Larson Could Look Like As Live-Action Princess Peach From Mario Bros.

An artist has shown what Brie Larson could look like as Princess Peach in a new live-action Super Mario Bros. movie. This isn’t the first time the award-winning actress has been pictured in a Nintendo franchise. Popular artist BossLogic did a piece in 2018 showing Larson as Samus Aran from Metroid.

To say the least, Super Mario is a worldwide icon. The year 2020 celebrates the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Reportedly, Nintendo will remaster some of the franchise’s biggest games for Nintendo Switch. The games have been enjoyed by millions of gamers around the globe. Universal partnered with Nintendo to launch the upcoming Super Nintendo World, theme parks featuring the series. Recently, Nintendo revealed more details on its partnership with LEGO. As one can see, Mario transcends video games. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the character’s world was given the live-action treatment in 1993. As fans know, the movie ended up being a critical failure. Since then, many have wondered what a well-made Super Mario movie could look like.

Princess Peach is one of the most recognizable video game characters in existence. Surprisingly, she was not featured in the 1993 movie, making fans wonder how the princess would appear in the live-action world. On Twitter, Apexform has answered the call by putting Larson behind the crown. Check it out below.

While not entirely accurate to the video game character, the image shows how Peach could be adapted with liberties taken. In the games, Peach is a princess of humble royalty. She displays kindness and gentleness. She does have a tougher side as well, as seen in games like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Princess Peach. It would certainly be an interesting challenge portraying the character. Larson fans can look forward to Captain Marvel 2 as they contemplate her in the hypothetical princess role.

Although there’s probably no live-action Super Mario movie on the horizon, Illumination is on track to release an animated Super Mario Bros. movie in 2022. Unfortunately, details are incredibly scarce. The plot and voice cast for the characters have not been revealed yet. For now, fans will have to wait on new information. According to the Mario 35th anniversary report from VGC, Nintendo had plans to reveal new details at this year’s E3 before the event was canceled. Perhaps reveals are coming sooner than later, though fans shouldn’t get their hopes up just in case. Either way, Mario isn’t leaving the spotlight anytime soon.
