At its core, The Morning Show is about secrets, the lengths people will go to cover them up, and what happens when they’re uncovered, with a new secret between Bradley and Cory set up to be a major storyline in The Morning Show season 3. The initial draw into The Morning Show was discovering who had known of Mitch Kessler’s misdeeds, how much they knew, and how far they went to protect him and the network. Though The Morning Show season 3 has moved beyond Mitch, there are still plenty of secrets to be kept and revealed.
Some of The Morning Show characters’ biggest secrets are work-related, while others are more personal secrets that speak to who they are and what made them the way they are. Each and every character has had something they’ve hidden, wanted to hide, or failed to hide. The two-year time jump between seasons and the introduction of new characters in The Morning Show season 3 also opens the door to even more secrets and the potential to be exposed, including one that’s yet to be discovered between Cory and Bradley.
Cory Helped Bradley Cover Up A Secret After The Morning Show Season 2
The Morning Show season 3’s storyline started in March 2022, almost exactly two years after season 2 ended just after the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Naturally, many changes occurred during this time period, such as Bradley leaving the morning news for the evening news and Bradley going to Montana to be with Laura only for them to break up sometime afterward. These twists were openly stated and shared with viewers in The Morning Show season 3, episodes 1 and 2, but one thing that occurred between seasons seems to be even more important, yet only alluded to by Bradley and Cory.
In The Morning Show season 3, episode 1, Cory referred to doing a “favor” for Bradley, so she now owes him, suggesting that Bradley was in trouble for some reason or another and Cory got her out of it. There have been little glimpses of flashbacks of someone, likely Bradley, with dirtied hands in a bathroom, but nothing more has been revealed except that it happened a year ago. Bradley has a difficult, problematic past she’s worked hard to hide and escape, and this secret must carry some pretty major consequences for the two of them considering how terrified Bradley is at the potential of it being uncovered.
The Morning Show’s Cyberattack Suggests Cory & Bradley’s Secret Will Be Publicly Revealed
In a promotional video for The Morning Show season 3 posted on Twitter, Bradley’s actress Reese Witherspoon called whatever she and Cory are hiding “this dark secret [that] haunts her.” Bradley feeling haunted is understandable given the likelihood of their secret being revealed is a lot higher due to the cyberattack on UBA. Bradley has already been shown to be the hacker’s direct target, with a private, intimate video she sent Laura under threat of being shared with the public.
Cory tried to get the UBA board to pay the $50 million ransom fee the hackers set to protect him and Bradley, but the board voted not to pay it. This leaves everyone at UBA in danger of their secrets being revealed, including Cory and Bradley. Cory told Bradley that he hadn’t told anyone, but he also has a history of lying directly to her face. Additionally, Bradley said that she’s only “sure as [she] can be” that she didn’t tell anybody. This leaves room for someone else, particularly the hackers, to not just know their secret but expose it as well The Morning Show season 3.
