Netflix’s newest reality dating show, Sexy Beasts, has fans wondering what Archie the Stone Man looks like in real life. The show’s unconventional format has each cast member wear an elaborate mask, forcing them to find love based on personality alone. Featured on the series’ first episode, Stone Man Archie fights for Emma’s (otherwise known as the Demon) heart alongside Adam the Mouse and Bennett the Mandrill.
Combining aspects of The Masked Singer and another Netflix original, Love Is Blind, each episode of Sexy Beasts introduces a new beast, alongside three potential suitors, on their quest for love. Dressed in prosthetic makeup, the contestants must learn to connect without knowing their partner’s physical appearance. After each round of dates, a suitor gets eliminated and their identity is revealed. At the end of the episode, the final pair remove their masks. In theory, the couple can then move forward in a relationship with a genuine connection based on more than just looks.
As a student from Gloucestershire, England, Archie has a rocky dating history to match his masked persona. On the show, the Stone Man admits to once identifying as a player, with just one relationship to date. As he waits for the right person, Archie is looking for a natural girl with beauty and brains. Oh, and a big behind – more specifically, a “LL Cool J, big ol’ butt.” Per his Instagram, in his spare time, Archie enjoys boxing and healthy living. Running a separate health and wellness Instagram page, @tribe.of.life, and Youtube channel, the student motivates his following by encouraging positivity and a vegan lifestyle.
After making it through the first round of speed dates, Archie progressed to a one-on-one spa date with Emma. As the pair were treated to a couples massage while testing their chemistry, Archie revealed his intuitive abilities, claiming he was accurate in guessing people’s ages. After assuming his masseuse Dawn was seven years older than her age, it is a wonder why Archie couldn’t see his inevitable dumping on the show to Bennett the Mandrill. Despite experiencing an awkwardly long embrace by Emma and Bennett, Archie kept his cool and became a fan favorite for his laid-back persona and mature responses.
At the final reveal, Emma admitted that while Archie was her usual type, the pair failed to have the same chemistry as her pick, Bennett. The show’s premise was a success, leaving Emma and Bennett with a genuine connection amongst a whole lot of PDA. Fans of Sexy Beasts can find a further five episodes of the first season on Netflix. Additionally, the platform has just announced season two of the show, which will be released later this year.
