The Real Housewives of Potomac star, Wendy Osefo, teases the show’s newest season, taking to social media to write that fans are “in for a treat.” RHOP is set to premiere season 7 after season 6 premiered in 2021. Fans are anxiously awaiting the return of the beloved housewives to their screen for more of their signature drama, antics, and entertainment. Two of the most adored housewives on the franchise are notorious frenemies Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger. The two powerhouse women have been friends for years but often find themselves at odds. Fans find their fights entertaining rather than unsettling, however, because they are equally matched in wit, bluntness, and the ability to take an insult.
Much of the drama in the Potomac friend group comes from mixed allegiances between friends and enemies. Gizelle is very close with her costar Robyn Dixon. She and Robyn, dubbed the “green-eyed bandits” by Karen, are always sure to back each other should one of them find themselves at odds with another woman. Gizelle and Robyn have a tendency to get into messes with the other women, often to the chagrin of Karen. While it does cause some tension in the group, much of the drama is light-hearted and not maliciously intended. When newcomer Wendy Osefo arrived, she was a welcome breath of fresh air to the somewhat stale group dynamic.
Ahead of the highly-anticipated RHOP season 7, Wendy has taken to social media to tease the upcoming drama. Hyping up the show on Twitter, she wrote, “Chilllleeee! Y’all are in for a treat this season because…” alongside several emojis depicting laughing, crying, and cringing. The tweet seemingly indicated a wild ride of a season with plenty of hilarity, fighting, and drama in store.
At the end of the previous season, Wendy and Gizelle were embroiled in a feud of their own after Gizelle aired and explored rumors that Wendy’s husband, Eddie Osefo, had cheated on her. When Wendy confronted her about her gossiping and investigating, Gizelle accused Wendy of giving her daughter a dirty look, which ignited the fight into a full-blown family feud. Whether or not the two women will be able to leave the past behind and mend their friendship in season 7 remains to be seen.
One of the biggest dramas pertaining to one housewife, in particular, took place off-screen. Ashley Darby, who has been a fixture of the show since its inception, announced her separation from her husband Michael Darby in April 2022. The pair were married for eight years and together share two sons. Their marriage was an unconventional one, with Michael being 29 years older than Ashley. Throughout their marriage, their relationship was tested by rumors and allegations of Michael cheating, including a claim that he inappropriately touched a cameraman on the show. Between romantic relationships and drought friendships, the next season of The Real Housewives of Potomac is sure to be entertaining.
