Wednesday season 2’s production will be essential to Netflix following the strikes. After a successful run in fall 2022, the Addams Family spinoff series was renewed by Netflix in the beginning of 2023. Only a few months after this renewal announcement, the WGA went on strike, followed by the SAG-AFTRA strike a few months later. These industry strikes left Wednesday season 2 stalled, along with countless other shows.
As per Variety, Netflix is set to prioritize the development of Wednesday season 2 as the strikes lift.
